Chronic Tonsillitis

Aug 14, 2017 6:37 PM

Hi, I seem to be getting tonsillitis all the time sometimes twice a month but it will only lasts a couple of days and then goπŸ€” Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I know that with M.E and fibro you can be more prone to infections but this seems a lot.
I really can't keep getting infections over and over as I'm already in a lot of pain and this doesn't help.
Thanks in advance πŸ’•

I had tonsillitis for two years straight in my late 20s when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had my tonsils removed and obviously no tonsillitis and no strep throat since. The pain of having your tonsils out as an adult is quite excruciating.

@LAT Wow 2 years! I don't think I could have my tonsils out at the moment as I couldn't cope with the recovery.

I had tonsillitis as well into my twenties! I also had my tonsils removed as an adult in my twenties! It was not pleasanT to recover. I have not had a problem with tonsillitis since though! As I don't have the tonsils, lol!

@Christmas7 Thank you 😊 I wish I'd had them out when I was younger but I thought I would grow out of it but I guess not πŸ˜‚

I am glad I had them removed. Recovery was painful but short lived. It’s wonderful being tonsillitis and strep free. It’s a difficult decision but I hope you find relief. I use nano silver and herbal throat spray when I have a scratchy or sore throat and it has helped. If interested I can get the name off the bottle.

Thank you @LAT I really wish I'd had mine off when I was younger, I'm in the UK so I don't think we'd have the same stuff that you use but thank you very much anyway πŸ’•πŸ˜Š
