Cold = Pain?

Jul 06, 2016 5:01 AM

I've been noticing lately that my legs hurt when they get cold. That's a new thing for me, as I've never had a problem with it before.

Maybe it has something to do with my bad collagen?

lynxbun, yes cold = pain! YES, YES, YES! I think you'll find many others that will tell you that you are not alone. Extreme heat can zap you too but the cold sends you down for the count. Keep that chin up!

Yes and sometimes i just cannot get warm... chilled to the bone... then i violently shiver like no other! It looks like a bloody seizure to anyone but my hubby... and it excentuates my pain 10 fold!

I have to get in a tepid bath (even thst feels hot at first) and add warm water slowly to bring my temp up!

My daughter willget me a warm hotwater bottle... or warm up a wheatbag... and put it on my feet. She always feels my legs now... to try and warm me up b4 it gets to that stage... Just breathe... and know it WILL pass! & i hope u can find a way to eaze ur painfull coldness soon x

Lulabel, I've often wondered what causes that cold to the bone feeling. Its not just a feeling though, I mean me legs literally have to warm from the inside out. I kinda describe it like thawing meat from the freezer or sometting. I know that sounds terrile but It is true. Warmer thoughts to both you lulabel and lynxbun.

I hurt badly whenever I get cold. And yes, it sometimes seems bone deep! It's not as bad as it was last year, when I got dx as hypothyroidism. Omg, I'd be cold in the middle of summer, dressed like it was winter. But the thyroid meds have levelled off some of the temperature intolerance issues. However I still hurt when I do get cold. After someone's suggestion in the community, I purchased some crafters gloves to wear on my hands, which have open fingertips. It helps a lot with my hands, which may partly be from Raynaud's (suggested by 2 docs). Anytime I get cold I have to drink something warm and get under a blanket. I sleep under a blanket in the summer now.

I was asking because the kind of pain I feel from that is different from my normal pain lol.

When my legs get too cold they just, ache. I feel it in my muscles and my joints. Maybe I should talk to my doctor about it.

True lynx... its not my normal pain either... def talk to ur doctor about it if ur concerned. I find it a good distraction from my usual pain load... but my spine is a mess 😄...my legs seem to emulate pain from the bone... i also have terrible neuropathic pain fro my MS... im a tad complex to say the least lol 🤗
