Congenital spinal condition

Jun 10, 2017 9:59 AM

I'm new here, I was born with several spinal conditions which have lead to several more spinal conditions over time. Currently I'm struggling with lumbar back pain and left leg sciatic pain/loss of use, caused by bulged L4/5 disk.
In a few weeks I'm getting steroid injections in my spine to help with pain so I'm using this pain tracking app to monitor my current levels of pain vs the relief I'm supposed to get.
Has anyone else had these injections? I'd love to hear your experiences to get an idea of what to expect.
Thanks :)

I have had them and never again! That's all I can say on that subject. To each is own.

I was born with a couple congenital spinal conditions as well. I have lordosis scoliosis, spondylosis, and spinal arthritis. I have had steroid injections in both hips and back. They never really lasted long. I'd give them a try and if they don't help I would look into radio-frequency ablation. I had it done in 2012. I was 18 at the time so the nerves grew back super soon.

I have had the shots and they made it worse but some people it works out. I hope that this is the case for"PTPG". Blessings on you.🍀💖

They are under review for being used off label. The label says not for your spine. One lady just won a huge law suit because it paralyzed her. Also, there are several spinal diseases that should never have these shots. Mine included. The pain management doc I saw refused the neurosurgeon request to give them to me.
