I am in a similar situation and I am famous or infamous (depending on my mood) for post it note and carrying a digital recorder with me. I always write things down, and have some of the same stuff more than one place in my home.
Feel better soon, you are stronger than you may know.๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’โ˜บ

I write lists all the time but I always forget to bring the shopping list out with me or bring my list of questions for my Dr but forget it's in my handbag. My kids get fed up with me for continuously repeating myself or starting a conversation half way thro from what I've already said in my own head!!! They ask for things then I forget what they asked.....this is all just me on a normal day recently, I couldn't even begin to explain what a bad day is like!!!!

Thats exactly me!.
People close to me respond' thats what happens as you get older'....i suppose, but for me, i had a memory of steel.
Can i ask what happened?
How do you cope, any helpful ideas?

I always had a reasonable memory apart from when I had baby brain when I was expecting my 2 half grown monsters!!! Lol
A couple of years ago I went thro a very stressful period (the stress started way before that but it came to a head a couple of years ago) and I was dx with trigeminal neuralgia along with vertigo, anxiety and depression. It was around that time my memory started to get worse

Sorry serving dinner and pressed post by accident!!!

I hope dinner was tasty!
Thank you again . I feel better knowing im not the only one. I wish more people understood. So much stigma with cognitive and depression.

The drs said that the trigeminal neuralgia nerve pain started because of the stress and since then my memory has slowly got worse but since last September it's got worse quicker, what I thought was a flare hasn't got any better at all so this now seems to be my normal! ๐Ÿ˜•

I haven't found anything that really helps so it's lists, lists and more lists, I set reminders on my phone, a family calendar in the kitchen, a diary in my handbag, notes on the fridge and I tell my kids appointments and stuff so that they might remember (I've found they both have selective hearing when it suits them!!!) but I still forget things so if you have any tips they'd be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi guys, I've been dealing with this for over 23+ years and the worst is ppl recounting whole conversations you don't remember. I don't have any good ones for that! I too have notes everywhere. I used an old fashioned organizer (those paper things before Pocket personal assistants and smart phones and tablets!) and still keep one around with lists of authors and books and recipes and such. But my smartphone is now taking over more and more of the other chores I used to have multiple sources for. It's my second brain and everything is ALWAYS put in the SAME place. Glasses when I take them off, keys attached on lanyard to purse and always put back, transit pass with transit disabled ID on lanyard in outside pocket of purse, today's pills in small outside pocket of purse, extra opioids in a pill bottle that attaches to key lanyard. My shopping list is on my smart phone in an app called notes that will run with a tablet or a PC and sync, my notes for my drs appts, same place. My drs appts are on the doctors my chart app but I transfer to MY phone calendar and set reminders about once a week. It's exhausting, but to go from someone with a huge vocabulary who could run hundred million dollar projects mostly out of my head to someone who forgot words and overdrew my checking account in the space of a frw years was scary. And raiding my kids it was the only way to stay halfway sane. ๐Ÿ˜ They are so intelligent and could figure out SO many ways around things and to piss each other and their dad and me off! Whew! So glad they are almost out and on their own established! But these are habits it has taken 20+ years to develop to fight the cognitive decline and the depression. Ppl will say, senior moment as they supply words or put them in your mouth! Aargh! And tell you things like, but it's just normal...it's NOT! Fight in your mind to keep it active around the pain! Your mind can do incredible things. Remember how little it is used. Try meditation. Their are many channels on YouTube for various things for guided visualizations as shirt as 1-5 minutes.

Oh right . I remember that to now!
Ppl reminding you of a conversation you had with them. I insist never happened๐Ÿ˜†
My question is how do i convey to the specialistes who work with me that when i cant remember' they say, try harder, are you using the techniques we gave you? OR when im in pain they tell me' just breathe through it' push past the pain, Allie'๐Ÿ˜ wtf!!!!!!....so frustrating!
