In the UK we have something called Continuing Health Care(CHC) it is a package of care which is arranged and funded solely by the NHS(National Health Service) for people with ongoing complex needs and who have been assessed as having a "Primary health need" that can be provided in your own home or in a care home. There are many tiers of assessment and because of this it can take a while to be completed. I was told last week by my multidisciplinary care team that I had been assessed as needed CHC funding as my primary healthcare needs outweighed my social care needs. This also now means that I do not have to pay any contributions to my care package as the NHS pay for everything now. This comes to me in form of a "Personal Health Budget" which is looked after by a company employed by the local council who manage my payroll, employer insurance and so on, so I don't have to have the added stress of doing this myself, as I choose to have Personal Assistants that I employ, which means that I am an employer and so have to have everything any other employer would have in order to employ staff, it just means I don't have to worry about the paperwork side of things. This now gives me more funding as the NHS have larger funding budgets than the local councils, which means I can now have full 24 hour care, which is something I have to have unfortunately.
