I usually have a lot of pain in my hands, but they have recently started cramping really badly up my hands and in my knuckles of some of my fingers. I have special gloves to wear but I don't think these are helping, any ideas on something that will help?
I suffer terribly with my hands. The pain can be excruciating at times. I've tried a number of gloves and often use a splint on my left as the GP thinks I may have carpal tunnel in my elbow. It's gotten so bad that picking anything up in my left hand causes pain up my arm. You could try compression gloves. I found these quite useful a while back, but as I use ergonomic crutches I changed to ones with a gel pad to ease the pressure on my hands. Do you have any tingling in your fingers? P.
PJB, I have compress gloves, they feel very uncomfortable but I do feel the benefit when I take them off. They thought I had carpal tunnel as well but test results came back negative, awaitinb appointment from neurology to see what they say.
I've had carpal tunnel on and off for years. It took a long time for any doc to admit something else was going on. I have CRPS, triggered by an "unknown" injury. I don't know why, but in school my hands always would crap up for days after using pencils. The worst was in 7th grade, and the maps we had to use filed pencils on. The teacher said we had to use colored pencils, which I thought was stupid. I still tried. What that teacher never saw were the nights spent sobbing in my room just trying to get through the pain. Maybe look into things outside of capital tunnel?
My hands cramp worse when im eating badly (processed sugar, dairy and greasy foods) and not drinking my normal amount of water (avg 15 glasses a day) When i smarten up for a couple weeks, my hand cramping goes away.
