Dealing with Fibromyalgia without insurance...

Jun 22, 2017 5:18 AM

Anyone else dealing with this issue?

I definitely am dealing with having fibromyalgia along with Sjögren's syndrome, 3 herniated discs in my back, along with a whole list of issues. And I don't have insurance. I don't have a thyroid and I just went 6months without my synthroid. If it wasn't for my psychologist prescribing me cymbalta for some of my pain, I wouldn't know where I would be.

I take Lyrica and Cymbalta. I get them free through the companies who make them. They have prescription assistance. I need to talk to my rheumatologist about other option for treatment besides the meds alone. Do you have any ideas on what I could do? I do get in the pool at my apartment complex and that seems to help a little until I get out lol. I try to do a little yoga but sometimes it seems like it hurts more than it helps. BTW what is Sjogrens?

JoRaye80--I hear people saying that Obamacare saved their lives...if we are striving to have socialized medicine or care,
Why would anyone in our condition be without healthcare?

I am coming to conclusion that you get better care if you have insurance..this is based on my personal experience...of having and then not having...no I get Medicare and many docs don't take that and juxtapose chronic pain, I'm really having issues..
But hope you're finding out what you set out to find...all my best

I have just been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia having been treated for Rheumatoid arthritis for 15 years during which time I had 2 discs herniate and have suffered pain ever since I do not have insurance and rely on the National Health Service.

@JoRaye80, Sjögren's is an autoimmune disease like lupus.
