Dear Pain ( a poem)

Nov 22, 2015 10:05 PM

Dear Pain,

Why oh why do you hurt me?
What did I do to deserve you?
Where did you even come from?
No one seems to know
No one seems to know anything

Dear Pain,

Can you give me a break today?
I don’t think I can take much more.
My resources are running low
Where will my endurance come from?
If I say a prayer to have it reduced
Will you let it be answered.
If I take a pill
Will you hide for a while

Dear Pain,

I treat you special
So you will treat me better
I take my pain medication
So I can confuse you
But still, you never really go away

Dear Pain

You think that you can conquer me
But I am stronger than you
There are times when things seem hopeless
But I will never let you take away all my hope
Just when you think you can keep me down
I will stand up and rise above you.

Dear Pain

I am not alone
I have a group of friends
They help me deal with you
They lift me up when you try to keep me down
They make me laugh when you make me cry
With God and them, I am never alone
I will never let you destroy me.

Perservere through this constant in your life. Great poem, and realizations. Never alone with God in your heart, your mind, and your soul. We are but vessels to carry out the word of the Lord. The pain is real & coping is a struggle, but thankful for a loving God and beautiful support system.

I just saw this poem profiler. I cried. I cried with everyone who has ever been in pain and has risen up and fought it. Just like we do every day. Thank you.
