Debilitating pain

Sep 30, 2015 12:28 AM

I usually don't want to fuss and complain. But I was asking about everyone and go how they distract themselves from the pain. I was throwing myself into all this art and such to distract myself from the agonizing pain of all the other illnesses i survive.

Now, I am looking at another surgery for my bladder and using my left hand again, as my dominant shoulder supposedly has bursitis but the symptoms are closer to carpal tunnel syndrome as the pain began in the wrist and traveled up to my shoulder.

And my pain specialist just wants to do steroidal shots but they never help and i am aware of the side effects of so many steroidal shots (a few friends have had bone loss, diabetes, etc. Now if it works for you that's awesome. This isn't the only reason I don't want to do more shots is bc they don't work for me and I end up with too many unappealing side effects (I've had them on my neck all the way to me bum of yeah and my knees.)

Anyway y'all are the ones who would understand the frustration of not having all the answers. And realizing that pain is something that I have to find a way to deal with for the rest of my life. . . .
💗💗💗 lots of hope to all 💗💗💗

I used to love nice long hikes in the woods, until I dislocated my ankle walking down my hallway last Christmas, I just got rid of the brace this week. I only wear it now when I'm on uneven ground. Now if it would stop raining long enough for a short hike it would be wonderful!

Positive vibes coming your way!

Thank you! I wish there were pages around the swamp where i could go stomping. And i know there is i just have to kayak to get there and I prefer not to go alone. I hope my mom and i can go sometime soon.

Until then I'm going to do what i do best, Hope! Hope for better days!

ScaryAnn, that's a looong time to have to start a brace. I had to wear a wrist brace for a year straight.
I even started writing differently bc of the brace lol. That and how i learned to paint.

Big hugs! Sending you big gentle, healing hugs and lots of hope!

Kitty, I hate to hear you've got to have more surgery. I'll pray that it goes well and your recuperation time is short. I have had CTS surgery on my right (dominant) hand in 2011, but now the symptoms are back in both hands. I had my doc give me splints for both.

I had no knowledge of the side effects to steroids, and I've been on oral asthma steroids since 2001. But I can't c count the number of injx I've had in the past 15 years. I was dx as osteopenic last year. Is be willing to take them for my headaches from C2-3 & C7-T1, but I'll live with my lumbosacral & sciatic pain. I wish I knew if SI joint fusions worked well.

My hubby and I loved hiking in the Fall mountains trails, and the summer beaches. Now I'm lucky if I can make it to the edge of the same! Lol somebody needs to create a legal send cart for people like us!

Hope everyone has a good day! 🙏🌼
