Desktop version of CatchMyPain becoming very slow to use

I have been a user of CatchMyPain for a couple years now. I find it to be a very helpful product as I am sure you agree. I am also a heavy user of the product with sometimes multiple entries a day.

The application has now become very slow to use with opening the application being very slow, takes several minutes to open it. Navigating through the application is also slow and so is saving an entry. My laptop is one year old, reasonably good model with WIndows 8 as the operating system. My internet connection is very fast so I don't think the issue is related to my laptop or internet connection.

Has anyone got advice on how to speed the application up or is there a way to archive the older diary entries? I don't want to delete any entries as I believe I will eventually need to refer to them.

I could be that you need a registry cleaner. I will speak to you like you don't knoW computers. But think of that program as a pie. Every time you open it up and then close it it. And you do that several times. It is like, dispensing a whole pie among friends. Each time you take a piece ( like opening a program) crumbs scatter. If they decide they don't want to have the pie now but you want it to look perfect, you would have to put each piece back the way you took it out and every crumb that was lost. That is a way a program is. So they have programs called registry cleaners. My favorite is Advancedd System Care Ultimate. They have other ones of this brand that don't have tools you may not use. But I like this one..

The other thing is RAM, I think it means random assesses memory. The best way to describe that is like a desk top. If you have a small one and you have many papers, then you begin to put paper upon paper and then things get difficult to find and you don't remember where you put things. That is what it is like when you have low RAM in a computer that does multiple programs at once. In this situation, ii would help to find a way to not have as many programs running. That is very impractical. It is much better to increase the size of that desktop. More RAM. It is easy to put it in. A. YouTube video is probably made for your specific computer.

I don't think you are dumb. I have just found illustrations help for people who may not know much about computers. I hope I didn't make you feel that way. I hope this may help or is the answer you are looking for.

One last thing, I just remember, do some research on your antivirus program. See if yours slows down the computer. I look at reviews and see if they are on it. You have to be careful of reviews though. They can be partial. I heard their is a good free one but I don't know if it slows down your computer. I use webroot because it is a very small program and doesn't use much of the computers resources. That is all I can say which is probably too much

I use c cleaner it removes cookies, browser history, clears RAM and fixes regestry errors and is free. Does wonders in speeding up a slow computer. But if this is the only thing on your computer that seems slow it may not be any of the above problems.

I have had to delete the CMP app from my phone. It quit working the day they had me download the trial app and even though I came off it & deleted it, CMP app refuses to operate on my phone. I'm using my dinosaur tablet because I can't get into the app from my computer. I've gone through the download for the Google chrome but still can't get past the site page, telling me to download the GC engine. It's so frustrating!

Hello all

We had some slow server periods recently and are working on a fix against this. It can/could lead to many situations: slow synchronization, missing community, slow drawing replacements, login not possible, etc.

If you don't have the following program I suggest you install it and run it daylight it really helps with slow ever things anyway give CC CLEANER. A TRY But if you have cookies you want to keep you sure to add them to the exception was before you run the cleaner

I started out with problems logging onto the app on my cell phone. I deleted the app, turned off the phone, turned it back on and reinstalled the app with no success. If I go into the community I can open ONE post, comment on it and then when I go back to the posts, no matter which one I click on, it won't open the post. It just turns the background white as if I had read it and responded. Also, when I try to get on on my tablet, I get a blue screen telling me that the first sync takes a few minutes and be patient. WELL, it gets to 16%, stays there and then it will just stay there with the little circle going around for an hour with no further sync happening. I can't even get it to work by deleting it. On my pc, i had the problem the other day of taking a half hour to get on and and then it did the sync, came up with my community and BAM, same thing, opened one post, responded and when I went back to the community, I was told I couldn't get in because I needed an internet connection (Which i had with a very strong signal) and it also told me that the server was down and there was no room to put my stuff so I could open more. I checked in my settings and there is still more than enough room on my tablet to put everything. It is getting frustrating as I love to connect with everyone, It has been my saving grace to be able to speak to people who get me and understand what I am going through. Also to be able to help others get through their bad days and offering encouragement and suggestions based on my situation. (It makes me feel good that I can help other people and it really helps me to feel better). Please, Please, PLEASE get these things straightened out...

I think it's all related to their server... I'm thinking we can expect a bit more tweaking on their end then hopefully smooth sailing

You're probably right Oregon. I just wish I could get it back on my phone, it was much easier to use. They told me to open another account with a new user name but that doesn't help me with my history of entries. Maybe soon... 😞

Flappsy, I actually took the app off of my phone, shut my phone down and then after restarting it, I reinstalled the app and then turned the phone off again and restarted it. The app began to work and also began to work on my tablet again... However, it was short lived and I don't know why. Perhaps it does have something to do with the servers, etc. and the fact that they are launching the new app and it is all gunked up and it will take time for it to get sorted out. I have been using my laptop to get on and check with you all to make sure you're all doing alright (or as well as can be expected). I am, however, a bit fed up with the slow progress with the program on the laptop. Oh well, I guess I should just count my blessings that I can get on at all and catch up with my pain community family. You all help me so much, even when we're goofing around. I hope you all have a blessed weekend and have less pain and are able to enjoy. Also, to all the men and women who served our country and paid the ultimate price, I pray for your souls and thank you so much for your service. I also thank all of the men and women and served and/or are currently serving.. It is not an easy situation to be in and I pray for all of your safety.

I'm back on with my phone, sometimes. For the days I've been getting messages about needing a connection to the servers, on my phone and tablet.

Sometimes not a restart to get it working. Best to do a soft reset. If you are on the iPhone or iPad, hold power button and home button till apple sign appears then release both. Soft resets clears memory of device.

My phone app is still messing up on this app. But it's also started doing all kinds of weird stuff on other apps too. I jokingly told my husband that it's the companies causing the phone to go out between years 1&2 so we buy another and sign another 2 year contract. He came home Friday and said multiple coworker's phones have glitches or batteries died (which aren't replaceable), so everyone's doing 2 yr renewal. It's a technology monopoly! Lol πŸ™πŸŒΌ
