What do you all do you to make yourself feel better when you're in pain? I experience lots of anxiety and I feel like no one understands. It's isolating. I hate feeling horrible.

Kcoa11, being in pain and having an anxiety/panic disorder and clinical depression (long before the pain began), I do several things. I practice mindfulness, guided meditation, listen to music and sing (sometimes I even dance because I'm hurting anyway and I can't listen to good music and not move), I also come here and chat with my peeps!! This is the very best family community. I've been here with these zany, loving and wonderful people for 2 years now and have made many strong bonds and friendships. We are here to help one another and you'll soon realize that you're never alone. Not only are there folks that have similar issues but most of all we understand, we "get it" which is important in a world where you feel like you can't make anyone understand. Kcoa11, I do the relaxation, listen to music, read, watch funny shows, play games or chat on my tablet. I quit singing when my voice started sounding like a croaking frog! Lol I have asthma and get thrush, which affects my voice. I exercise when I can, walking 15+ minutes on a treadmill. I try to do it 4-5 days a week, because on days I don't walk I tend to have more stiffness. This community is filled with others just like us, and we all understand bad days happen. Sometimes it helps to just have a good cry. Hugs & prayers! 🙂💕🙏🌼

I come here, try and talk with someone who will listen (though they don't really "get it") without judgement, do something for someone else, watch something funny, try and think of what I might do on a better day. It doesn't come naturally and it feels forced but it helps.
Since coming to this community my depression has lifted somewhat. I'm thankful to all who've shared their pain, their diagnoses and medical concerns as well as their day to day lives. I definitely feel less isolated and less alien to others.

Thank you everyone so much for all of your words of comfort. I really appreciate it. I've found so much comfort from this group already. I'm going to start doing more things that distracts me from focusing on the pain. Thank you so much!
