Developed new strange symptoms

Mar 14, 2019 7:33 PM

So over for the past 12 months I’ve been having vertigo. Not dizziness... full blown vertigo
But today I’ve had at least 12 episodes

Balance totally gone at the time of vertigo
Lasts 30 seconds to couple of minutes at a time
And nystagmus... I’m sure at one point my eyes did the crazy loopy loop
With a mild frontal headache

Sakram, do you have anything to take for the vertigo? I take 2mg of Valium at the onset of my vertigo. My vertigo can come on suddenly just turning my head, or getting in or out of bed, but when it does the whole freaking room spins and I have to freeze in place. It typically last 3-4 hours to as long as a week (any slight movement makes everything spin around and makes me nauseated). The sooner I can take a Valium the shorter my vertigo lingers. I never get headaches with mine though sometimes a migraine triggers my vertigo.

I also have other dizziness/imbalance issues; vestibular neuronitis of the 8th cranial nerve (causes dizzy imbalance while walking, and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (bending over or going from laying to sitting/sitting to standing, my blood pressure drops and my heart rate increases while causing lightheaded dizziness that makes me feel faint and sometimes feels like I'm whirling).

Are you sure you are having vertigo and it's not something else? The headache & eye issues sound concerning, but we are all different for sure. If you have anything to take that will stop your vertigo symptoms try taking it. Have you tried just lying still for a few hours and then slowly move to get up? If you don't feel better soon you might want to give your doctor a call. Hugs love & prayers this goes away soon! 🙂❤🙏🌼

Definitely vertigo...

I had postural hypotension when I was younger.. but this is different.
The moment I sit up.. stand ..lie down...the whole room spins ... and my eyes go crazy.

Balance goes off completely.. almost fallen a few times.
And the nausea... yikes... so horrible

Had it three times over the past year but since yesterday it’s been happening all the time. I’ve got nothing for it yet.
So far I’ve diagnosed myself with inflammation of the inner ear... BPPV or a brain tumour 🤢
Shall see a doctor Monday

I have the same issue except I’m having trouble staying awake and being alert As well my doc is ordering me a tilt table test and everything you discribe is everything that happens she is confident that it’s pots but yours could be different. Sending love and prayers your way🙏❤️

Yikes! Absolutely awful. Hoping you can see your doctor and have further testing to find out how best you can treat this, until then sending Ovecand prayers 🙏

Oh sakram, I wish there was some natural otc meds you could take. I've never had dizziness as long as you're having it, and I'm sure the spinning is contributing to the nausea. Have you asked your doctor for meclizine or Valium, at low doses, to help until you see them? It might help get the dizziness under control so you can walk into the docs office easier. Praying you are wrong about a tumor, and that they diagnosed you & get relief quickly!

I was having terrible vertigo and nausea and it turned out I have a major sinus infection and needed surgery for a seriously deviated septum

Mar 21, 2019 8:53 PM

But I have no other symptoms.. so weird

Mar 22, 2019 10:59 PM

Don’t have a new weird symptom. I had anew symptom tonight. I’ve previously had muscle spasms of my legs, lower/upper/ between. But tonight had muscle spasms in my left fingers/hand. 😮 my fingers looked knarly! Twisted. Quickly wrapped my hand in a wet hot towel to relax the muscles. Has anyone else had that happen? I have issues with my cervical discs c-3-4. Could this be coming from my neck?

Mar 25, 2019 11:40 AM

Maybe Painwarrior. I have cervical disc issues and I've had finger spasms and tremors, which were very severe until after surgery at C3-4 in 20116. It's all calmed down a lot.

Ouchiepps, that sucks! Been there and the nasal packing and trying not to sneeze...omg!
