Diagnosis one step closer

Jan 27, 2016 8:55 PM

My symptoms have worsened over the last two weeks (as many of you have read and given me advice on). Today I went to the doctor to let her know of my loss of balance. My mri has now been moved to tomorrow at 830 am. They will be doing all three sections of my spine as well as my brain. She will then be discussing my case with the neurologist Friday and I will have an appointment with the neurologist next week.

CND, I am so glad that they are taking care of your MRI right away and going over your info with the neurologist. I never understood why it takes so long to get in to see some doctors. It's almost as if you need to be headed to your death bed to get any appointment sooner than 3 weeks away. I've been blessed with my doctors that I am able to get in within days. I hope you get the answers you need and that they are able to help you feel better. {{{Hugs}}}πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

This is good news that it's all been put sooner! Praying the tests will give answers to your problems and the docs will know the best way to treat! Hugs! πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸŒΌπŸ’•

Thank you so much! The MRI seems to go okay. I don't know if I will get results prior to the neurologist appointment or not.

You should ask for a cd of your mri. I have mine before they even told me the results I could see a lot of the issues

Hi there. I don't know your history as I'm new here, but are you suspecting MS?

Jan 28, 2016 10:35 PM

Shammagren - who would I ask? The imaging department?

Jan 28, 2016 10:36 PM

Feduplass - yes they are suspecting ms.

That's what shouted out to me. Are you at that point that many of us get to, where you'll grab any diagnosis if it means you've got something to deal with, rather than the frustrating and painful purgatory?

Jan 29, 2016 7:47 AM

I absolutely am. In the beginning I was hoping for something that was curable and not chronic. That was 6 months ago. Now I need to know so they can treat me. I am having trouble functioning day to day and I'm not okay with that. Not at 31. I need treatment to function and I can't get it until I have a diagnosis. If it is not ms, then hopefully the MRI will show them something.

I think the main reasons why she moved my mri up is that I started losing my balance and my left foot drifts off. She did a reflex test and she said it's supposed to stay in the spot when she lets go of it. It doesn't. It goes up and to the left.

I got my images from the department who did my xrays and mri. Best of all it was free.
