Disabilty Review

Jan 26, 2016 9:04 AM

Has anyone had a disability reveiw from social security?

Melissa, there are many here in the community that have, I'm sure. If you're referring to them checking up on you after a certain amount of time being on Social Security, yes, I have been reviewed. They only sent me a form in the mail that I had to fill out and it was over and done with. I didn't need to do anything or go anywhere. I hope whatever they are asking of you goes smoothly. {{{Hugs}}} πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ˜Š

I actually just got approved, but my award letter says they will be reviewing me in 2 years. Im just wondering if they try to take it away.

They didn't try to take mine. All they did was contact my doctors and me and got an update on my situation. I haven't been reviewed in 5 years, just got a letter and it's over and done with. Relax, it'll be ok. {{{Hugs}}{πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»πŸ˜Š

I had a review and one time it was easy and one time it was not. I had to go in front of a judge. But I think they may have settled it for me. I don't know. It took me six months to go before a judge and they wanted to take away my pay but thankfully you can appeal that and continue with your money while that appeal goes on. But if you lose, you have to pay it back.

I'm going through the 10 year review now. It's more in depth than the mini 2 year ones. Those ones you can usually do over the phone instead of going in. The 2 year will have an appointment date, but if you call them they'll do it over the phone. But I'm going to be going through the medical check again so I'm nervous.

I didn't even have to send my forms back. They checked my doctor's record, found I was worse and that's it.

I've had reviews on paper or by phone every few years since '02. I have MS, fibro, arthritis, IBS and more ... Don't know why they bother reviewing incurable, progressive conditions.

When my lawyers requested the info they found out the review board only had 3 doctors info, and they were not even docs treating my issues now. He put in for all the records of over 15 doctors I've had to see since I had to stop working. And we are waiting for a court hearing. Go figure! πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸŒΌπŸ’•

I just had my review last year... It didn't go well. After 15 years they decided, even after adding over 10 new illnesses, my health had improved to the point I could not have SSI any longer. I am in the process of appealing.

The biggest problem in my case was I got my SSI for my bipolar 2 and anxieties. I can not take meds for it because of allergies that I have aquired to the meds. I control it by staying home and away from people. Now my body is falling apart (literally) and it doesn't count because I don't take the meds that can kill me if I take them. The system is very messed up.

I pray they don't put you through what they are putting me through right now.
