I had PT today. I did the basic exercises sitting and standing, and riding the elliptical. Then she started the standing and catching my balance movements, and stepping over obstacles. We were both shocked because as she would give directions, my body was not doing what my ears heard. My brain was defunct for sure! After the third attempt to follow her directions she said, "your brain is not connecting with your legs." Then she physically demonstrated and vocalized it, and I was still messing up. She said she definitely thinks there's more than just fibro fog going on, and she will be glad when I go back to Mayo. Me too! 🙏🌼
Aww that must have been so frustrating Flappy! Ive had milder versions of that kind of thing happen in PT. For me I think its usually pain related .. having so much of it for so long u just can't think straight. I'm doing PT for my shoulder right now becasue all the pain that causes u to be idle ends up causing other problems. Vicious cycle.
I hope they find out whats going on for you! I've heard a lot of good things about the mayo clinic. Have you had good luck with them or will it be your first time?
Linda, this will be my second visit with lots of tests & evaluations by a neuro-psychologist & audiologist & ENT. After I see them I go see the neurologist I saw in July for evaluation. Mayo found internal bleeding on my dad and stopped it (he been bleeding over a year).
Moparmom, thanks for the hugs and prayers. I'll keep letting as the docs figure it out.
Chocolat, I've had 2 MRIs, 2 years apart, and the last one showed changes in the frontal lobe. The local neuro-psychologist said I have dementia, but the neurologist here referred me to Mayo because he suspects early MS due to symptoms he and other docs have been following the past year. The Mayo neurologist said he doesn't think I have dementia, so he wants their docs and tests.
