I have ehlers danlos hypermobility, and I’ve realised as a side sleeper I’ve always slept with a shoulder dislocated. Recently I keep waking up with awful pins and needles, and I don’t know how I can stop myself from dislocating when I roll over in my sleep!
I have eds and a similar problem including waking up with my hips and/or knees dislocated as I move alot in my sleep. I hate the feeling of having a dead arm because I've dislocated/sublaxed and its pinched the nerve.
I've had some success using a shoulder brace or an arm sling that keeps my arm at approx 45 degree angle across my body. Pillows have helped too but tgese can fall off the bed but its the braces I find most useful.
I live in the uk and get mine online from a good physio supplies retailer, they're about £15-£30 but I have classical EDS so I can't have the cheaper materials next to my skin. Good luck, David :)
