Dizziness and nauseous

Aug 06, 2014 8:33 AM

for months now I have been feeling dizzy and nauseous most the day every day nothing seems to help I can't scroll on computer screens, I can't read in cars that just makes it worse, if I eat a little protein it seems to help but it does not take it completely away. it's really hard to get anything done during the day when you're feeling dizzy all the time. does anybody else have these symptoms and what have you done about them

Hello. I don't currently have severe symptoms, but had similar ones last summer. Persistent and constant imbalance/dizziness and nausea for 3 months and then it just stopped until I had a migraine last month, and symptoms are returning now, which prompted me to find this app. Along with visual issues, certain sounds would send my into a dizzy spin.

Some things that helped me were turning the monitor brightness down very low, keeping lights low, covering any blinking lights (like a voicemail light). at times I had to cover part of the monitor with a piece of dark colored card stock so that there was less for my brain to process at once, same was true for reading print. I worked hard at scrolling and blinking my eyes so I wouldn't actually see the scrolling occur. it didn't seem to matter what I ate - though eating became increasingly difficult because of nausea. By the time I went through all the hoops to get to a neurologist the symptoms were gone. I now have an appointment next month with the neurologist since I'm having similar symptoms.

Best wishes to you, if you find anything that helps you please share!

Thank you for replying,, last year I was falling down and when I'd lay in the bed I I would start to spin and then it would go away and then when I got up the next morning I did the same thing when I got up out of bed, I finally went into a neurologist, she gave me a empley maneuver. but this feels different I'm just dizzy all the time. it's definitely not fun being this way all the time I hope you get yours taken care of too.

I suffered the same issues as a result if a severe iron deficiency.
A middle ear infection can also cause these types of symptoms.

I get this too, I'll have the dizzy and the nausea for weeks then one day, gone. can't figure it out. all we've been able to do is make sure I have Dramamine (I get motion sick - not fun when you're already nauseous) and nausea meds. I've been checked out for the ear infection and iron deficiency and no luck. wish we knew why it happens so I could avoid the trigger.
