Doctors 😢

Oct 09, 2015 8:30 AM

Anyone else nearly cry when going over everything to tell doctor. Sat in waiting room just hoping for some help or answers this time. Wish me luck. I know I'm going to cry. Arrrgh

Good luck and yes my Dr has a special box of tissues just for me. She is a saint and just sits and listens. She knows at the right places and offers a hug at the end. Good luck and let us know what's happening (((((hugz)))))

Yes, many times when I am at the doctor's office and we are going over all the things that are "wrong" with me, I cry... I am purely an emotional being anyway. I can reason and use logic and am a realist, but my emotions always run strong. If someone is upset and cries, guess who's going to cry right along side them?? Yup, they would be me. They are used to me by now. Whatever room I'm in they just make sure the box of tissues is close. They just hired this really HOT young man named Jonathan. It's like he was chizelled out of marble. And, he's adorable. I love making him blush because I'm old enough to be his Mother. He's 30 years old and when I go, I have to call him over and check out his tattoos. First time I met him I called him over to show me his tats and he came over. Well, I touched his arm and I said, "You know I'm only checking this out so I can touch your body. LOL! Those dimples and that smile and bright red cheeks!! I told him he had a very lucky girlfriend. One of the girls that works up front said he told her he looks forward to my visits because I make him feel good and that I'm a sweet person... Oh goodie!! I go on Momday morning!!😜😳😊

Yes, I've cried many times, because it's all simply overwhelming. Praying your doc will be sympathetic & understanding, to help you through this! 🙏🌼

AlwayZ, I just reread your post... Omg, I'm laughing my head off!!! 😅 And, once again we share the emotional trait... I try with movies! Lol 🙏🌼

So, because I'm down I'm making my pain worse, because of my medication I'm not allowed anti depressants. I might have a inject to combat one eliment of pain which is from far the worst but it's some thing and then after that I might be able to get referred to pain clinic. But no answer or help for my bloody knees which are what's really getting g me down. Round abouts again. Just gets so frustrating all the time. Not even ever had an x ray. I can cope with everything else, don't get me wrong it gets me down but if the knees could just be sorted. Oh well. Mop my face and back to try to clean my mess of a house. 5 children to care for. Got to stop crying first. Lol alwayzinpain in pain. You make me laugh 😊big hugs to you all xxxx

Katyhadenough, I understand the knee pain. Both knees have problems, but the left has a large bone spur. In January the doc was ready to do surgery but now I'm on a cane/walker for imbalance issues, so he says it is to risky for me to heal and he won't remove it. If it were gone I might be able to balance better!

Having a good cry is good for you... Relieves some stress. Have you asked your doc about Euflexa? It's injected into knew joints that aren't bad enough for replacement surgery. My cousin has it done several years (1-2x year) and only recently got joints replaced. Ask your doc for xrays. Or if he's not an orthopedist go get a second opinion from one. Good luck, hugs & a prayer for you! 🙏🌼

I don't know much, after these injections I may get to pain clinic but what they do I do t really know? I have no idea what's wrong with my knees apart possible sciatica. The pain is in the front of my knee just to the I net side and above and it hurts to walk stairs, standing up or sitting. It doesn't feel like typical nerve pain and it started in one knee at first feeling like achy muscle, thought I'd damaged it some how but got told it was inflammation. I guess if it is sciatica that would at least put my mind at rest but as I've had no x-ray, who knows. On the upside I'm now home drinking my coffee with a hot water bottle. 😊 xxx

Oct 09, 2015 10:49 AM

Can you actually demand x-ray to rule out other things? Am I being nieve in think this would of been one of the first things they do? Xx

Oct 09, 2015 11:18 AM

No you aren't. An X-ray should be done at least by the second or third visit. My Ortho group xrays on the first visit with everyone. I have an insurance policy that allows me to bypass my PCP to see a specialist, thank goodness! If I remember correctly, Euflexa is used to cushion between the kneecap and the leg bones joint, usually from arthritic damage.

If your pain is actually coming from your back the pain clinic should be able to do injx in the spine areas that's causing the problems. But I wasn't sent to one until after I had an MRI showing disc and facet issues, which didn't require or couldn't have surgery on. I went through two years of 3 injx each (epidural steroid-esi, sedated), at the C7-T1, T11-12, L4-S1 levels, both years. It brought me a great amount of relief for 2+ years. Now my sciatica and cervicogenic headaches are acting up again. My pain doc also gave me an Rx for voltaren gel. It works much better than Aspercreme. Those lines braces didn't do much for me, except cut my circulation off. Lol. I have OA in both knees, spine and some fingers. I hope you can get a hold doctor that will help bring you relief. 🙏🌼

Thank you. I think I shall just demand it. I got bursitis of hip diognoses today which is the least of my worries in comparison and will have steroid injection. I got sacriolitis and pelvic girdle pain which is cause of my sciatica. But my knees? I get random pain and sweats and head aches and tiredness etc. Went with a list which she handed back to me and she asked what keeps me awake and the bursitis was one of them and she just seemed chuffed she diognosed one lol. Fibro got scoffed at. So I now have regained my composure and will battle forward xxx thank you xxx

Oct 09, 2015 11:46 AM

Well I wish you all the best of luck and my prayers are with you as well. Hopefully, the Doctor is compassionate and empathic and can answer your questions and help relieve your pain.

Oct 09, 2015 12:02 PM

Katyhadenough, I'd look for a new doctor if I were treated that way. Oh wait, i want a new PCP... I just can't leave mine right now! Lol. It sounds like you could have arthritis. Mine started with bursitis in both hips and shoulders, and its in the Arthritis family. If you do you should see a rheumatologist. Good luck and keep tracking forward, one step at a time. We're here to support you, and nudge you if needed. 😉 I need nudging now and then too! Wishing you a blessed day! 🙏🌼

It just will be less tiring. It took me 40 minutes to type this aNd it's short. Check y'all in a while!! 🙏🏻😜😉🙏😂

Oct 09, 2015 3:33 PM

Aw bkess you. You rest hunny. Hugs xxx

Oct 09, 2015 4:15 PM

Alwayz, you are not the only one who does that. Have just recently begun doing that, only because I'm so damn frustrated already with this(sorry to hijack Katy).

Oct 09, 2015 4:17 PM

Don't apologise. I do that on some days but I don't know why? Just can't stay awake? What causes that? My doctor says it's pain draining me and my meds but I'm pretty much tolerant of my medication. 'X

Oct 09, 2015 7:09 PM

My doctor said the same thing. Hmmm, I think I'll have to do some reading. Right now I can't even write.. So many mistakes and I keep reading my posts so I can fix them. Maybe I'll get lucky and sleep!!! Now, wouldn't that be a sweet thing?? Hoping it happens for me. Need the rest so I can function

Oct 09, 2015 7:46 PM

Katy, does your health insurance require a referral?

Oct 09, 2015 7:51 PM

Katyhadenough, it's sheer fatigue. AlwayZ, I oppose you get some much needed rest! Sweet dreams to all. I fought a nap because the other day I feel asleep 2+ hours, then couldn't sleep that night. 🙏🌼

Oct 10, 2015 1:46 AM

Thanks, Katy.... As you will see when you read this post that it's almost 3am and I'm still wide awake.

Oct 10, 2015 4:57 AM

Alwayzinpain I really hope you get that much needed sleep. Thank you all. Love to you all. 😙😘😚

Oct 10, 2015 10:17 AM

I have fixed this issue. I printed up a history of myself along with copies of the body to show where it hurts. I use red for pain, blue for numbness and orange for what joints hurt. Good luck.
