Doctors

Hey! So I'm going to the doctor's on Thursday, and I'm really nervous. First, I need her to sign a paper saying I can use the elevator at my school--- it would prevent me from going home as much as I do. I have to go up 2 flights of stairs to get to my classes. Secondly, the rheumy I went to to get diagnosed was USELESS. She said I definey have chronic pain and fatigue syndome, but that might just be fibromyalgia. She refuses to actually try to diagnose me with anything, just tells me I need to "lighten my aura." I need to beg this doctor to try and pursue an actual diagnoses, but I'm not sure the best way to do that. Any suggestions?

I would try to find another doctor if they won't pursue a diagnosis or give you treatment that you find satisfactory. As for speaking to your other Dr about signing the paper, explain it to them just like u explained it to us. Less missed school etc. Just give the Dr facts and good reasons.

Good Luck!! 🍀

M24601, try telling your dr that you are having trouble handling school and if he could write a note that allows you to use elevator, you think that will help you reserve your energy and enable you to deal with classes and schoolwork etc. tell them your school requests a dr's note for special circumstances. If you have a hard time talking to doctors, ask your school counselor to write a letter to your dr with your current school
status etc and suggestions to cope with school more effectively.
