Does anyone else experience intense sweating?

Jul 29, 2016 2:03 AM

I sweat after moving it's crazy! Most of it is on my head and upper torso! I wake up drenched in my sleep and I have to dry myself off change clothes and sheets! It doesn't happen every night and has nothing to do with me being warm! Does anyone have this? Any explanations for why it happens? It's rather embarrassing and frankly annoying when it wakes me up!

Hi Anna... 😚

i used to get terrible night-sweats that would soak the bed.
I am on allot of meds and the side effects can exasperate the problem... like tri-cyclic anti-depressants (i was on fluoxetine and then duloxetine which added the sweat factor)... but my personal problem was bad pain management.

I was in pain in my sleep... pain makes me sweat... espesh withdrawal pain. And i was experiencing terrible sweating side effects too.

If i got up to go for a glass of water... by the time i got back... i was sweating my nuts off!... not a good look when my makeup starts sliding down my face! My body was in pain clear and simple.

So now whats changed...? Well i finally saw the right people to manage my pain... they fine tuned my meds... gave me the correct medications to get me out of pain. I titrated off the fluoxetine cos the side effects were worse. And i take paracetamol 2x 500mg bid (3x a day) which controls my body temperature... i have a fan if i need it and ice to suck on if im really hot. I can now exercise... im a sweaty betty after not much... but a shower and im good! Little changes seem to add up to reduce and in time stop it.

Finally speak to ur GP/PCP perhaps u can find help here.

I hope u can find some help here...but lastly, cos im old lol...

i am 45 and had 4 children...i have been sterilized... so i also take a chinese root called Dong Quai (capsules from health food shops) this regulates my hormones thruout the month... so

What's your age Anna? I'm 54 but started having hormonal hot flashes at 35. And it lasted a long time, even after a hysterectomy & oophorectomy. 🙂💕🙏🌸
