Dr appointment coming up ..questions

Feb 29, 2016 10:09 AM

So is there a line with Dr visit like are there certain topics I should not mention. For example... I'm having abdominal pain but how do I know if it's fibromayalgia or if it my tumors? The appointment is with the rheumatologist. And I don't feel my pain is totally controlled. I have seen some changes but I still have limits. The tremors are new. So do I just let it all out a d met him decided what he can work with ir do I pick and choose.. Any advice is welcome

Yes, let it all out. Also, try and take a list with you. You can even ask that it be put in your chart. Sometimes the unexpected can click into place for a diagnosis. Let them know. Best of luck to you.

Thanks you guys..I'm.working on my list now and I seems like a lot of information but I want him to have as much information as possible. This will only be my second visit with this Dr. So I'm not sure how he works just yet. So far he does seem Every detailed.

Newfibrogirl, my sweet friend, I saw your post and instantly knew I would respond to you, sweet girl...you tell him/her everything...write it down first...read the list off to him/her. Don't assume to think what he/she will treat or even know about. My PCP surprises me quite often..lol.you know I am a handful as far the the patient goes... I often will assume she does not or will not treat something... So, prepare for your appointment... Trust. And yes I know about the responses of those whose trust has been broken....keep trying, we are all on the human side of life and we will go through many hardships... Keep trying. Newfibrogirl, I have had the pleasure of getting to know you as my friend so please your depression, please. You have struggled and keep fighting, you have the absolute right to have your pain managed , whether it is Emotional pain or physical pain. Love you!!!!!!! Your friend, Terri

Newfibrogirl I know you're struggling my friend and it's not easy. Please write down all of the symptoms that you are having and go into your appointment with full disclosure. Like Terri said, there are always surprises when you think a doctor can't or won't treat something and they actually can. I wish you all the best, my friend.. Know that you're very important to us and you absolutely have the right to have your pain controlled. (No matter if your pain is physical or emotional). Love you bunches!! {{{{Hugs}}}} 💕🙏🏻🌻😍

Terri oh Terri. You are awesome thank you for your comments and your support. I'm not gonna lie its gotten progressively worse the last few weeks and the dark place has been my home. But I do stil have some fight in me. I don't know where I'm going or what I'm doing and thus stress has me all locked up in tmj land. Mom talking like a bad rapper. Lol..and the pain omg.. But I'm not gonna give up. I'm gonna try and I'm gonna write AL my issues down. In fact I've been doing that for some time. So thank you again and hey we miss me in the circle. Meet up there and see my idea.. I also mentioned it in the post you commented on with painlady. Look forward to speaking with u soon.
