Louisiana passed a law to enforce a strict regulation on pain medicine. But we all know that one bad seed ruins it for the rest of us! My Pain Specialist wrote my prescription and it was worded incorrectly and the PHARMACY refused to fill it unless he gave the new way it has to be written. I GAVE my Dr the SCRIPTS back to him and explained this. He took them and wrote on the bottom that they are worded correctly! Oh. Dear. Lord! Why didn't he just write a new one? He took the time to write a paragraph on my script but, didn't want to be "wrong" about the wording? I told him the pharmacy still would not fill it and he just walked out of the room! This event happened as I was in the pre-op room about to go in for a cervical procedure. He literally sent me home with ZERO pain medicine!!! The pain is so bad that I get waves of nausea. That happens when I am about to pass out from pain. If you are a pain specialist, why would you not manage your patients pain? I know why...because he doesn't care! It's not him in pain. I'm not even on a medicine that you would think would be worth fighting over and over about. It's the lowest dose possible! I'm still in pain even then but, I'm so tired of fighting for myself that I have given up hope on ever being comfortable again.
I live in a state where the person on pain medicine is a "dope head" or "drug seeker" ect... I also live in a town (Army sent us here) where I have to drive an hour and a half to see any specialist. This Dr is the only one around for 3 hours in each direction! So, I can't just jump in the car and go pick up another script. This Dr is the Worst Dr I have ever been to. But he knows that he has the monopoly on this specialty. No General Practioner will prescribe any type of pain medicine, especially if you are being treated by another Dr. Sorry for venting but I feel like I am dying.
