Ear Pain

Jun 10, 2016 12:28 AM

Anybody get outer ear pain? Anything to be done about it? I get this every now & then. Mostly it's only painful to the touch. When I do touch it, the pain is a 10. Tonight, it's painful, with no touch, about a 6. I am not happy:(

Try looking up myofacial pain.

I don't get so much an order ear pain but I get the feeling of an ice pick jabbing me in the ear.

Wow! Glad I spell checked that one. Almost told you I got an ice pick in the rear.

Hsmommy1, Since my fibromyalgia dx, I get overly sensitive areas all over my body, which when touched hurts worse. The doc called it myofascial pain. But I've had TMJ (now TMJD) for decades and it will cause various types of pain in my ears, eyes, teeth. I also have trigeminal neuralgia that causes shooting pains around the ear, eye, & cheek, & triggers headaches. Then a few months ago I started getting a different pain (sharp, intense, rhythmic, throbbing & shooting) behind the rear going down my neck and across my shoulder top. That pain is coming from a bad cervical disc. I sometimes rub pain ointment behind the ear, or microwave a rice sock (tube sock filled with uncooked rice & knotted) and hold it in place. But the myofascial pain, there's nothing to help except the gabapentin has made it less intense. I hope you can find the cause and hopefully some relief soon. Hugs & prayers! 🙂💕🙏🌼
