New pain in elbow all the sudden is nasty, radiating down my arm & into my hand. Started with a small noise, like a catch, and then a really agonizing pain. Afterward a deep ache traveling down arm & into hand. It seems to be here to stick around, and I just want to weep. It is one more pain too much.
I'm really sorry that you're in that much pain. I'm off work because of elbow pain. Every movement of your arm, shoulder, wrist, and hand sets it off, which makes daily tasks impossible. Sounds as if the ulnar nerve is getting trapped. Have you had trouble with your elbow before? Or maybe your neck?
Thanks to all for empathy. The only injury I can remember is having tendinitis when we used to play tennis. That was a while ago! I do have bad carpal tunnel in both wrists & wear custom braces for many years. Seems like every day brings a new pain somewhere. I was low down last night. The heavens just blackened, Lit up, cracked open & unleashed a battering bucket of huge hail. Looks like it snowed. I love snow. U guys take care & hope your pain is a 2 today.
Yes. Both elbows. Right inner wrist. And my thumb joint is so weak and painful I can't shake hands, unscrew a jar. A constant ache. I never believed until recently that these pains had anything to do with fibro.
Baubos, I don't have a diagnosis yet (every appointment takes three to six months to get, and you have to do them one at a time, so it could be a while!). So, please excuse me if this is a stupid question. With fibromyalgia, do X-rays show arthritis? Can they be concurrent?
I believe arthritis shows up in X-rays but the fibro is related to nerves. The joint pain to me feels like arthritis but it is not in my case. I have a mixed bag of various inflammatory diseases. It began with discoid lupus and then went to my joints. But I didn't have just one disease but had a smattering of many. When I asked my doctor if this is what they call fibromyalgia he said sort of. I just got into a research study for fibro. They had to determine a diagnosis of fibro. They did this with the tender point exam and some interviews and questionaires. So I guess I have it.
My Neurologist told me mine was caused by tennis and golf which I never have played golf in my life ,and haven't played tennis since my early twenties. Lol told me to use Aspercreme on them and elbow pads it did seem to help . Good luck.
So much for downward-facing-dog. The elbow is not co-operating. I did purchase from Amazon a tube of Melaleuca pain cream & am going to try it. I about had kittens at the price, but I know you can't price out pain. I appreciated the suggestion.... You know who you are, thank you.
