Empowering songs

Oct 01, 2016 11:30 PM

There appear to be several people struggling with self worth and the point of it all right now. I'm one of them. So I thought we'd start a post with music that is empowering and speaks about self worth or overcoming obstacles.
The first one I thought of is a rock song. I am the fire by halestorm.

Shatter me by lindsey stirling

Oct 01, 2016 11:38 PM

Oct 01, 2016 11:42 PM

Raise your Glass by pink

Oct 01, 2016 11:46 PM

If you like heavier stuff lift me up by five finger death punch is a good song promoting rising above the crap we are delt with in life.

Oct 01, 2016 11:47 PM

I love This is my Fight Song. And You're gonna hear me roar. Don't have links though.

Oct 01, 2016 11:47 PM

Anyone got any songs to add to the list?

Oct 01, 2016 11:48 PM

Who are they by? I don't know a lot of music. Artist and sing title please so people can look them up.

Oct 01, 2016 11:51 PM

Is that Fight Song by Rachel Platten? And Katie Perry Roar?

Oct 02, 2016 1:37 AM

🎧 Awesome start to my day... ⚘⚘⚘ thanQ Gtb 🤗

Goto - thank you so much for posting my songs. You got them both right. Lol. Love the video you posted of Roar. I hadn't watched it before.

Oct 02, 2016 11:12 AM

WhatTheWorld, you had my perfect song! That is the exact same one I was going to post. That became my theme song back in 2013 that and Stronger. Overcomer holds a special place in my heart, it's what keeps me fighting.

Oct 02, 2016 11:19 AM

Sjogrenspain, I will thinking the exact same thing. Both of those 2 are my favorites. But I also LOVE Move by Mercy Me and You Lead by Jaime Grace.

Oct 02, 2016 11:25 AM

I agree! Casting Crowns has AWESOME song's as well another one that I LOVE is already there, our favorite Just be held.

Oct 02, 2016 2:03 PM

Hey, if you get a chance, you might want to pick up their newest cd. It's REALLY good. Title is The Very Next Thing. Waiting until tomorrow to open it, as a birthday present.

Oct 02, 2016 10:13 PM

Katy Perry - Rise is that last one

Oct 02, 2016 10:14 PM

Thanks for putting that one here hun. :)

Oct 02, 2016 10:20 PM

WhatTheWorld - for some reason when I click your link.I get an error message instead??

Oct 02, 2016 10:20 PM

ThanQ GTB ⚘⚘⚘

Oct 02, 2016 10:31 PM

In this moment the fighter
It's a weird video but the song is good

Oct 02, 2016 10:34 PM

The previous one is overcomer that whattheworld posted. The link didn't post proper.
The next one is stronger, which was also mentioned

Oct 02, 2016 10:36 PM

This is the song i use to kick my own ass atm 🎧

Oct 02, 2016 10:50 PM

The last one is unity by shinedown. The previous are ones already mentioned

Oct 02, 2016 10:56 PM

The light by Disturbed

Oct 02, 2016 10:56 PM

Shinedown are one of my alltime greatest bands x

Oct 02, 2016 10:59 PM

I love Nobody Praying for me by Seether but it's not exactly uplifting or empowering. Shinedown and seether are very tame in terms of what i usually listen to

Oct 02, 2016 11:02 PM

Probably not following the theme of this post but watching The Rock lip sync Taylor Swift is funny

Oct 02, 2016 11:08 PM

For the metal heads. All that remains not alone

Oct 02, 2016 11:17 PM

Straight line stitch - ashes in the wind

Oct 06, 2016 1:51 PM

This is a great idea to post! But darn it all, I can't remember song titles or singers names any more. I don't know if it's my dementia or fibro fog of both. If I'm not listening to it then I can't remember it. I grew up singing songs all day long, but these medical issues have stolen it all.

Oct 06, 2016 3:40 PM

No one can remember, which is why this post is here. If you find a song and can find the artist and sing title then post it or post the YouTube link. Then you can come back and listen to the songs and others can as well. When we feel like crap our brains turn off and we seen to always feel like crap. Even without additional problems like dementia. Hugs

Love Lindsey Stirling. One of my daughters that play violin and cello showed me her work. Check out "Hallelujah"...💜
