Endometriosis diagnosis

Oct 05, 2014 9:50 PM

After a year of chronic pelvic pain I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis. The pain was caused both by the endometriosis process and a large ovarian cyst cause by it. I had surgery to remove the cyst but in order to stop another one from forming I now have to take a pill to stop my period cucle (or attempt to). Would love to hear from other in similar situations especially any taking visanne.

I have Endometriosis, Poly Cystic ovaries (loads of little cysts) and Adnomyosis. I have been on the pill for a while now to ease the pain but now I'm on it to stop having mt periods every month, once my doctor and I found a pill that worked (I kept gettong my period even though I was on it and not taking the inactive pills) it has helped alot. The pain is lessened, and my cysts have stopped bursting.

A friend of mine has poly cystic ovaries and endometriosis as well. She has had problems finding pills to stop her period. She has been very helpful in giving me advice and stress relief even though our diagnoses are different. Similar enough to understand I guess

I've been on the uk version - cerazette it has the same hormone in. It didn't work for me sadly. I would bleed for months at a time. I now have the iud marina coil. Pains have been pretty intense with it but no bleeding as of yet. I think my key is still getting used to the foreign body. I've had 4 surgeries now since 2011 I try abd hold them off make sure you do to! More surgery means more scarring but if you leave it that also causes more scarring once every year or once every 18 months if you can handle it is better than having them more frequently. Stay strong
