Okay, I need to seriously vent. I'm scared and anxious and most of all angry as hell. Had another damn freaking spot of MRSA pop up on my collarbone. good news is, I already have an appointment with my surgeon on Wednesday morning. Bad news is, looks like I'm going to be out of work for possibly the rest of the week. So sick of this fucking shit and loosing money because of it. I feel like an outcast at this point all because of the MRSA.
And another thing, got the run around by the surgeon this morning on it meaning he would not touch it so therefore I'm going back to my PCP in a little bit to get them to do something with it. I'm not living with that until it drys up, no way in hell.
Amanda, Have they changed the antibiotic to something stronger? I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I just had my LP and the doc told me to be careful of infection. Praying you'll get over this soon! I think it took my sister 2 months or more. 🙏🌼
FlappysLady, yes mam. They just gave me a shot in the hip of Gentamicin which should be enough for 48 hours at this point. Got a new order for Vicodin which is the only thing that will touch this pain already. Was at a 7-8 all day. Now down to a 2-3 which is wonderful. Order is only for 6 pills though so I'm breaking them in half to hold pain to tolerable level. Feeling pretty good right now.
MRSA is scary. For people who do not understand it, or do not know preventative actions.
I once had scabies. I do not know where/how I got it. I was responsible, stayed home from work and university. I used my creams, kept clean and covered (it was all over my arms, elbows down, and the top of my thighs).
I was also honest with friends that would come over. Let's just say that I found how how some people in my life were really, and they were told to leave my life.
Like I said, people can be mean. But we are not all like that. Hugs.
Weezie, it was pretty tolerable last night except when I was awakened at like midnight with pain. Just took another pain pill and went back to bed. It honestly seems like most of the pain again is coming from skin stretching and also the compression dressing, not the surgical wound itself. You know, it is a good thing that I went to my PCP on Wednesday morning cause otherwise I would have ended up in the ER that afternoon. Stupid surgeon.
Have you looked into "natural" antibiotics for MRSA? I know fairly extensive and legit testing has been done with a couple of essential oils and MRSA and they have found that it can't live in those particular ones. There are some important factors but it might be worth a try for you. A healing salve or cream including them couldn't hurt only help. I'm happy to make some suggestions (not sell) if you would like. Different I know but I was able to make something up for my grandmothers shingles years ago that worked better than any of the creams and meds prescribed for her.
