Excessive sweating

Aug 09, 2017 7:04 PM

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last week although I've suspected it for a while. Does anyone else suffer from excessive sweating? Gotten worse these last few years but this last few weeks I've been in a lot of pain and not sleeping and have noticed it more. Making me paranoid, showering twice a day.

Sorry to hear you have fibro, I have it too, I don't experience the sweating but I do really struggle to control my body temperature so if you struggle with that then that could be causing it, I would go to the doctors as they can prescribe strong deodorant that can help with the uunderarms and they might want to double check that it's definitely the fibro causing this ๐Ÿ’• feel free to message me if you want to chat I have had fibro for 6 years so I know how tough it can be ๐Ÿ’•

Thank you! I suspect I've actually had it for about 10 years but docs always put mysyptoms down to side effects of horrific surgery that went wrong. I've tried loads of deodorants so will maybe see if doc can help. Thanks again I live in small town and don't know anyone else with fibromyalgia xx

It took them 5 years to diagnose mine! I don't know anyone in where I live with fibro but lots of people on here have it so you will get lots of support๐Ÿ’• Message me if you ever need a chat ๐Ÿ’•

I have excessive sweating at times. Even in the middle of winter. I had it one time I went to a store and they cleaned off the counter and everything I touched. It's embarrassing. I was diagnosed with fibro in 2007.

I've had hyperhydrosis my entire life and fibro for a much shorter amount of time. I have to have air blowing on me at all times.

Is sweating due to your meds? I had a huge problem sweating with cymbalta (duloxotine). Stopprd meds no sweating.

I was diagnosed with fibro in 1997 and hyperhidrosis in 2005. I had a sympathectomy in 2006 to stop sweating palms (my palms had puddles of sweat in them at all times). Now my palms no longer sweat but my trunk and legs have compensatory sweating and gustatory sweating which I feel is way worse. Itโ€™s embarrassing for sure. I avoid hot places and wear 2-3 shirts to prevent sweat through. I only wear black or patterns to hide the sweat. Lots of showers. I just remind myself, sweating is a great way to remove toxins from my body. So I am removing toxins constantly. Just be sure to replace the sweat youโ€™re losing by drinking extra fluids.

No idea why I'm sweating and doing it weirdly. It's not armpits, it's face, neck, upper back and chest. At least once or twice a day in the last 2 weeks, I'll just start sweating for no reason. I thought maybe menopause, but from what I read that's different. .....Heehee! Just had a picture in my head of using deodorant on my boobs and having the hubby walk in and ask if I was making target rings. Lol!
I think I've been awake tooo long. =P
