Hi WestTexas! I'm sorry you're having trouble sleeping. I don't sleep very well either. My doc wanted me to try taking melatonin. I don't think it's working. I'm going to see a sleep specialist in Sept.

West Texas, I'm sorry you aren't sleeping. Sleep issues seem to be a major problem for so many of us who suffer chronic pain. I've had the sleep study tests and they finally decided my pain is the cause of my sleeplessness. I was given Lunesta, to take every 3 days, but I'm suppose to use melatonin on other days. My doctor also gave me other suggestions I'll list below that are helpful, just not foolproof.

Originally I was using the basic OTC melatonin which only allowed me to fall asleep easier, but I'd either wake fully at 3 hours or wake up every 2 hours, neither being good for the body. I did some research on different melatonin products and decided to try one by Natrol, because it's a constant slow release. Although I don't get more than 6-6.5 hours of sleep a night that's way more than I use to get. And instead of waking every 2 hours I get 4 hours before waking. It's worth trying maybe. But you also may need a sleep study.

Also try to do deep-breathing relaxation before going to bed. You could try reading a book to see if it helps you get sleepy, or listening to relaxing music or a sounds/white noise machine. I have to avoid all caffeine after 3:00 pm or it keeps me awake. And heaven forbid if I'm given steroid meds there's no sleep for days on end!😡 Hugs love & prayers you can find a way to catch more Zzzzz's & refreshing sleep!πŸ˜΄πŸ™‚β€πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Thanks you guy's, I really appreciate all your wonderful comments. I too thought about a sleep study, but I don't think I'd make it.
