Extra sleep aids

Oct 15, 2016 1:46 AM

How many of you guys use additional sleep aids. My doctor has me on nortriptylin and it sorta works but I also have ambian. Ever since the last chat I had with my dr about possible over use. I've been a bit paranoid about using anything. He still refill my script so I suppose he still intend on me using it. But some weeks I have to use the amnbein four or five days out of the week. If not I'd never get any sleep.
Am I being over sensitive?

I just take a muscle relaxer - Tizanidine 4mg. It has an added bonus of you have high blood pressure it lowers it.

I use a muscle relaxant as well, and melatonin. Mostly as needed like if i haven't slept more than 2 hours in several days or if im feeling absolutely shitty like now with weather change. I've been taking them every night for the last 2 weeks
Sleep aids = absolutely wired. I can't even do those sleep aid teas, i end up getting no sleep when i try

Newfibrogirl, the zanaflex will help you get some sleep. It is the only one of the meds that I take that knocks me on my ass and makes me fall asleep. It's not a long acting medicine but it sure does pack a wollup.. LOL!!! I hope that it helps you to sleep. {{{Hugs}}}💕😊

Newfibro - I should take it every night but I don't. If I find I can't get to sleep in my own or that my muscles are really tight I take it. (4mg) it has a shorter life span so when I get up it's all ready out of my system so I don't have that hung over feeling like some cause. Also I have high blood pressure and this muscle relaxer brings it down .. (added bonus). During daytime if my muscles are extremely tight (neck and shoulders hard as a rock with my shoulders having the tendency to be scrunched up by my ears... Yikes!) I take a 2mg tablet. If I have to drive that day - I won't take it.

Nights that I really need good sleep and have luxury of not having to set alarm I take a 3rd MS continuing, 1mg Lorazapam and flexeril 5mg. If I have to get up at 0430, week days, Norco 10, possibly 3rd Ms continues and Lorazapam. 5
