Eye test....turned into a nightmare!

Jul 22, 2016 5:29 PM

Ive been on the missing list for a few days with terrible eye pain..(thats an understatement...feels like someone took out my eyes and stamped on them!)...by day 6 it was getting to tipping point, but i had an eye test booked in at Boots... 🌷so i popped along and they gave me aĺl the tests they had, including the flashy lights one, the puffy puff in the eyeball one, oh and the flashy one to picture the retina of ones eye... 👀

i think i failed all of them because the stout lady, in 🐴comfortable shoes... asked me to wait as she called the hospital herself to get me an emergency appointment the very next day! Wow! She seemed worried..... i was taken back somewhat.🤐

Anyhoo... i went to sèe the most fantastic gentleman ophthalmologist🐫 whom gavemy eyeballs the once over... he even got a second opinion... whom happily came to have a look into my eyes... 🐪he explained i have
nystagmus (shaky eyeballs) and
blepharospasm (blinky eyeballs)
And that my eyes ae making acid tears to try to protect themselves! 🐴

So ive been on a jolly...with jiggly eyes... winking at everyone... in pain quite harsh! 😲
Gotta laugh aint ya!

Oh and thanx to Daniel... thats actually a picture i took of my own eye! Pretty cool Daniel... thank u ✌

Hi and thanQ for ur thoughts...💑

😊 i have drops to reduce acidic tears... 🐪but i had to add another opioid to combat extreme pain and baclofen for spacity... 🐫my pain nurse said it is as a direct result of lowering my cannabis intake 👅because i go on holidsy (first time in over 14yrs)... 🌱i cant take THC with me... so ive had to swap my natural herb for 💊more poisons... lol anyway tramadol working well for breakthru pain ... so feeling better 🤗 and thankful for it. 👧

Im just a little bummed i have to lean on another opioid... just to go on holiday🏖 but such is life... so im being careful 🐴

Pretty cool picture of my 👁eyeball... thanQ for letting me share Daniel... i took it with my 📲fone... no filters... my eyes look so green 🐊

Hope u are all enjoying the morning sunshine🌻

How helpful do you find baclofen? I've had a baclofen pump, but the port kept getting an infection, so I've been on oral baclofen but hate that it makes me sluggish, I think my docs are gonna put another pump in though as it works so much better without the side effects..hope you have as restful a holiday as you can Lulabel xx

Blessed your heart Lulabel! I have nystagmus since I was 17. But I've never heard of the acid years. That sounds awful painful! I hope the meds work and you can enjoy the rest of your holiday! On the last holiday was took, 2010, my hubby cut his toe open on a shell in the water, and he needed stitches. Needless to say our time in the ocean was cut short. But like you said, "gotta laugh!" Hugs love & prayers everything else is smooth sailing for your holiday!! 🙂💕🙏🌸

Feeling much better today thanQ 🤗 the tramadol is working for breakthru pain... and my eyeballs have settled muchly 😊 ty

As far as baclofen goes... its the choice drug for MS patients ✌(thats one of the boxes they try to put me in lol)... and altho its not great... i dont want diazapam on my list of opioids because of its 'addictive' qualities... and i found little use out of clonazapam either 🐫
Cannabis is the best muscle relaxant i have medicated with... so as soon as i get back from my holiday... i intend to kick the baclofen back into touch... and loose the tramadol... and go back to the natural 🌿pain/spasm/&nausia natural herb again!🌿

Its just such a pitty i must add another 💊opioid/anti-spasm/&anti-nausia drug💊 just to go on holiday for 2 weeks!

Can any help me with an answer, I suffer with crps , fibro , hypomobility, crushed disc in spine. I'm new to this group was just wondering if anyone wakes up in the morning and as misty green colour everywhere upon first waking up. Thanks

Jul 27, 2016 9:16 AM

Hey Mac, i sometime wake with hazey vision... never green tho! Are u sure ur not waking up next to shrek! (🐴 sorry couldnt help it, apologies)... have u been to have an eye test recently? Any history of cataracts? In the uk...if u have a relative with glocoma... u can get a free eye test... and they do the works from pressure testing, to retina photography, peripheral vision testing... and usual "guess the letter" sight test... and i had the colour test book too this time! All at my local Boots chemist. Or failing that... go see ur GP/PCP but dont take second chances with ur eyes... get them checked out hunni 🐫

Hope u feel a little easier today ⚘⚘⚘

Definately get them looked at... u cannot replace ur sight and it may be a completely different unrelated thing... like diabetes can present as bad vision and big thirst increase... even tho thats blood sugar!
i suddenly couldnt read the bottle of anything anymore... turns out im just getting OLD!!!
Make an appointment and tell them ur dad has glocoma... and the test will be free. If they say u need new glasses... leave only once they've givn u ur prescription. Then u can get it filled out online when ur ready to do so... hope this helps hunni 🌷

Welcome to our community family Maccamoo1968! I hope you find out what's going on soon. My vision has changed yearly for the last 9 years but the last changed happened within 8 months of the previous one. I now have sjogrens and have to be watched carefully for damage to my eyes from the plaquenil, though my eye doc says she's not heard a patient with problems due to the med in 30 years (whew!). Like Lulabel said, nothing can replace our vision. Hugs love & prayers it's just a minor issue! 🙂💕🙏🌸
