If anyone is interested, I admin a support group on Facebook for anyone who lives with chronic illness or chronic pain of any kind. You're all welcome to join us there! "Coping with Chronic Illness/Pain" is the group name, here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/880299938751016/
Hiya everyone! I'm not sure if you're all seeing this, but I wanted to once again invite you all to join our amazing, caring, understanding, loving support group on Facebook. I like this app, and you all seem great, so I'd love to see you all there as well. The vision problems caused by Fibromyalgia and the arthritis in my hands just make this app more difficult for me to use than the computer. Anyway, the group is: "Coping with Chronic Illness/Pain" and the url/link is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/880299938751016/:
Is it a private group? I belong to a couple of them on FB but not active in any. :/ with the recent elections here in US a lot of the posts on my feed is political. (Am an Army brat so many of my friends are as well.) I just don't go there as often anymore.
It's not necessarily what I believe but I have family and friends on all spectrums and each side trying to prove the other wrong. When dealing with chronic pain who needs the drama. Facebook just ceased to be fun. Or maybe my life became chaos. Lol.
Mimikay, I too hate political posts so please keep it off this site as it's the only site I come to that is not political, sorry IamMissT but I unsubscribed... I just prefer it here. This is my family.
Sjogrens. I am sorry for bringing it up. Just was trying to put into words why I am not on FB as often anymore. It is hard to try to manage being a part of several groups. I did it for awhile but it became really confusing to my fibro fogged brain. Sorry for being a downer - that wasn't my intention and am.sure the FB group is great.
I dont want to be rude. And perhaps your group would be just what some need. However when i ran my own support group i would never have even considered going to another group and ask them to join mine. Here in Pain Companion i have made some wonderful friends and making more all the time here. I also have a way to track my pain. Which my doctors appreciate.
I just cant see leaving here for a different group. Nor do i have the energy to be part of more than one group. I wish you the best but i will have to respectfully decline.
Mimikay, I'm very sorry you're somehow offended that I am inviting people to my group on Facebook. It is not a rival phone app, I am in no way benefitting from people joining my group on Facebook, and I've never said you have to leave this group if you were to join mine. Like I said, I am simply trying to help as many others like me who suffer from chronic illness and/or chronic pain. That's it; there is no ulterior motive that would be reason for offense, and you are the only one who has expressed a negative reaction to my invitation. I like this app, and have met some nice people here, but the fact is that a phone app just isn't that easy for me, as is the same for others. I respect your reasons for not wanting to join us there, and I accept, again, your decline of the invitation. I hope you'll find it within you to just scroll past any further of my invitations, and not continue to take or express offense. May you have many better days ahead of you. Peace!
