Feeling Frustrated...

Sep 30, 2016 8:28 AM

As most of you know I was involved in a car accident 16 days ago. My mild migraine fluctuates between mild and severe yet Neurologist won't see me. Thankfully the head CT came back OK. The neck and shoulders CT show inflammation in muscles and muscle spasms. Recommendation? Muscle relaxers around the clock and PT. 2 weeks ago my doctor was supposed to order PT. A week ago He was supposed to re-order PT since his staff had not done it. Yesterday I called the PT to make sure they would accept my ins. They said yes but they still hadn't received my referral. Ugh. Called the doctors office yesterday am to inquire about the hold up.Still waiting for them to call back.
My insurance wants to close my medical claim. For two weeks I have been telling them I will be starting PT. Ugh.

I'm the meantime this pain is literally making me sick. Yesterday IBS kicked in. Fun times! Nausea for several days.

So - just venting here. I know it will get better but patience is not my virtue. Lol. I used to work as a receptionist in a doctors office before I became a nurse. There is no way I or any of the others would have left a patient hanging like this. But it seems now that this is the norm. :/

OK - vent over. Can you share a positive thing going on in your life today?

For me - it's cooler here so I can finally enjoy sitting outside. :) wish I were fishing.

I love fall. It is my favorite season. The colors outside, cooler weather and football! The only problem cold makes me hurt.😞

Me too AnimalLover. Need to take a drive up to the Ozarks to look at the changing colors. :) Fall weather is perfect. Winter - not so much. Brrrr.

I'm so sorry Mimikay! Do not let the insurance close the case yet, not until this pain is under control or better yet gone. I'm not trying to upset you, but it's been my experience following mva's, 2-5 years later I had real problems requiring surgery. Hugs love & prayers your PT is ordered and it helps get you back to a better place physically! πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ™πŸŒΈ

Happy to hear PT was ordered for you but frustrated to hear of your delay. Hope they get off their kiesters and do something about it. Loved the saying would love a copy? Sadly though would not be able to DANCEπŸ’ƒ in the rain🌨. Lol I hope you get well soon

Its spring here and the weathers so nice.
My husbands helping out more around the house...
I hope everything works out for you

Mimi, I also agree with Flappys. Do NOT let them close your case. I'm at 2 years post mva and now have back issues which require surgery, yet I'm not willing to go forward with laminectomy yet (L4 I think). The thought scares me too badly.

Flappy - I got my first bill in the mail yesterday. Will have to call them Monday. Not sure why they didn't send the bill to USAA insurance. Am hoping they will hold onto the bill until my case is closed instead of demanding payments. Ugh.

Painwarrior - how can I get a copy to you? Will go see if I can find the link to where I got that from.

Mknight - I love Spring when everything starts waking up again and it's not too hot or (hopefully) not too cold. :)
Am so glad you are getting more help from your hubby.

Amanda - several years ago I had fusion of C3/C4 and C4/C5

It didn't help The pain but instead it increased it. :(
Others have had great results with back surgeries but I don't think I would ever try surgery of any kind on my back again. My mom also has had problems with back surgeries so maybe it's hereditary? We are just stubborn women I guess.

Its wise to be wary when facing any surgery. If possible get a second opinion and do research on both the surgery and the surgeon. See what the success rates are for this kind of surgery and see what others are saying about the surgeon.

Best of luck to you on not only choosing the right treatment for you but on managing your overall pain.

I received a compliment from a pro artist that I admire a lot. Absolutely came at the right time as having a bad day.
I am sorry you are being untreated so cavalierly by your physician & his staff. Maybe find someone else with a fresh outlook?? I suppose you canny right now, but a future idea. I hope you get in pt and feel much better.🌹
I am sorry you are Bing un
