Feeling Pained

Jun 01, 2015 9:12 PM

Cymbalta WORKED. My anger decreased. My pain level was down to an everyday 2 or 3. I felt pretty good. I didn't even feel the need to log my pain because there was very little to draw.
Except it exasperated IBS, caused my blood pressure to go way up, gave me convulsions. So my doctor switched me to a different med. I can't even remember what it is called. But it doesn't work. I feel worse every day. I could hardly stand my chiropractor working on me today. I have nerve pain shooting down my arms and legs, my ganglion cyst is causing lots of pain, I have more headaches.
I injured my back on Saturday by over stretching. We are moving at the end of next week. I have to pack my house.
I need to go back to the doctor. But I hardly even have time before moving. Let alone switch meds

((Hugs)) That's awful. Are u on Gabapentin or Lyrica? They help in a similar way.

I'm on gabapentin. But it doesn't help with my fibro pain. It does help with my Cervicogenic headaches. I'm on lexopro. That's the one doing nothing for me.

Hmm...my husband was on Tge generic for it Fluoxetine for years before his anxiety got too bad. Have you ever tried Effexor? It's in the same class as Cymbalta. It worked really well for me except for one strange side effect. But it might be an option for you.

Alia, I use voltaren gel at the base of my neck for those headaches. If you don't have it, buy some ointment OTC. It may even help the fibro muscles. I use it on my calves every night. I also have tramadol. Praying you get something very soon. Being in pain and stressed is overwhelming. We're here for you! Prayers & hugs! 🙏🌼

I don't know where you fit on the poverty level, your family structure, whether you have kids, whether you have insurance or Medicare, but if you are below the poverty level, and have no insuraNice, you could get lyrica for free probably. It is suppose to be better for fibro pain. If you want more information, let me know and I will post a link.

Aliya I hope you are feeling better. I take Gabapentin 800 mg 4 times a day, Savella 50 mg 2 times a day. I tried Lyrica but it didn't work for me. Along with my pain meds Fentonyl Patches 50 mg 1 every 3 days, 2 Hydrocodn / Acetaminophen 325 / 7.5 every 6 hrs., I also use Equate Maximum Strength, COOL & HEAT roll on for pain also I buy it @ Walmart. It seems to help on my neck, back and on my thighs. I hope you can get some relief soon.

Aliya, the medication that Weezie mentions, Savella, is a Fibro med in the same class as Duloxetine (Cymbalta). That may be very helpful for you.
