I was first diagnosed with hypothyoidism/hashimotos thyroid and no vitamin D. Shortly thereafter fibromyalgia. According to the thyroid sites I belong to there is. Mary Shomon, who is considered one of the best if not the best on thyroid matters has a Facebook page and I own some of her books. I think she also has a Web page. Her information would help answer that question.
I am hypothyroid, and suspect it's genetic because all my family has health problems and most of the last 3 generations are hypothyroid. I tale a supplement called Raw Thyroid, which is supposed to help all forms of thyroid (I believe there are four) instead of the prescription type, which only helps one type. It smells weird, because it's animal tissue, but it works pretty well.
It really explains what thyroid test we should be getting and what to exactly test for and usually doctors don't test for the T 4 and T 3 only if they see an abnormality. It is very interesting I tried to get the rhymotholgist to do a full thyroid panel but he wouldn't do it and said its been done .. But a T4 Or T3 test was never done.
I'm dreading this thyroid biopsy today. I feel so weak and exhausted constitutionally. The idea of a needle plumbing around in there seems like it will be more traumatic than anything but I guess I should just to have peace of mind. The doctor was perplexed that no one sent me for a work up before now with all of my symptoms. My thyroid blood tests have always come back normal--I asked if she thought it could be sub-clinical and she said that's what she was thinking too. I'm afraid to get hopeful in any way and have to be prepared if nothing comes of it. I had the blood work up weeks ago and she said she'd discuss everything after the biopsy. I figure she would have called if anything was significant so I just want to get through today.
No you're not being a baby, these procedures can be scary. I've only had biopsy of my female parts and it wasn't fun. If I had to have another I would be quite fearful. Can you use headphones and your favorite music? Imagine you're shipwrecked on a deserted island with Johnny Depp LOL whatever helps ✌️💜
Anon you're my kinda anon! I was just listening to music thinking I should bring it with me--but I'll start rocking out when I have to hold still. It does help. Good luck with what you're going through and thanks for the support. 💕
Thanks Flappys you're the cat's pajamas😺💕. That's just how I feel, trying to catch up and getting further behind. I'm so glad the biopsy is over and it wasn't too painful. I do feel a weird kind of hungover today like someone here talked about--maybe in association with the lidocaine (?) But it may just be a mixture of fatigue and fear. I posted about it in the Plaquinyl/floater thread from last week. I hope you're having a good day Flappy's. I wonder where flappys comes from😺💕
