Well, I just had an appointment with a pain specialist who has insisted that the reason no medical intervention has helped my pain is because of my mental state (ie. stress, depression, sleep deprivation), and that I see a psychiatrist, again.
He did give me an in depth explanation as to how the serotonin is depleted along the life cycle when one suffers from abuse as a child or a 'hard life' so to sa, which goes toward one feeling physical pain.
I couldn't get him to understand that the pain is what has caused my level of stress, my depression and my sleep deprivation!
That's it. They won't recommend any other treatments.
I just have to 'accept it '.
I'm only 40 and am in agonising widespread pain, unemployable, am not eligible for benefits, retraining, job assistance or any other help.
I've exhausted all avenues.
What ever you do, don't get emotional in your consults because all you'll get is a referral to psych!
I wish you luck xx

Dear both,

My health problems started with a depression and the diagnose of OCD when I was 26. I think some years after I started having the first symptoms of fibromyalgia and CFS. As I was on heavy psychological treatment maybe most of my symptoms were covered by my thinking all had to do with my medication. When I started looking for the fibro diagnose it also took long for doctors to exclude the psychological part from the physical. You need to find a doctor that knows about your sickness so him/her can distinguish one thing from the other. Psychological issues are still a stigma and a taboo. Try to find the right person, do not surrender, try to remain calm and make your point about your symptoms. I hope you find someone that can see far behind this and finds a solution for you, your health is at risk if they don't. Hugs!

Thank you.
This most recent appointment has only caused my 'depression' to highten.
This was my last try. I've seen every Dr available, GP, surgeon, neurologist, rheumatologist, psychologist, psychiatrist, and now THE pain specialist.
I've been tried on every medication available.
It's been a 23 year struggle for me, ever since my car accident my pain has grown widespread.
The Drs simply don't have answers
I do have bulging discs, arthritis and a pinched nerve but apparently I shouldn't be in this much pain !
I'm lost.

Very interesting. My pain is from back fractures a couple of years ago and I'm struggling to learn the best way to mentally set myself up to overcome the pain, kinda like a pain worrior kunfu, without medication. It works sometimes but it's easy to get knocked down, and when that happens it hard to get back. But I still think my mind and metal attitude have a huge role in not being controlled by my pain.

I have read and talk to the doctor that conducts a study in Israel with oxygen in hyperbaric chambers, they told me they work better on trauma caused pain. You might want to check that. Honey do not surrender, take a break from every doctors opinion then and gather you strength...I do not know what to say but I'm sure that someone good will be in your path to bring you some relief ♥️♥️♥️
