Fibro and Periods

Feb 17, 2015 6:34 PM

Any other females feel like they are dying during that time of the month. Fibro flare ups like it is no ones business.

Yes. They put me on implanon to stop my cycle. Has been a life savers

Every month , every darn month I at least flare a day, usually 3 or more though. What changes ... Right before, during, or right after.

Same here! For the better part of a week!

I've had the same issues... However, now going through menopause so that makes it even harder on my body and my head. I wish there was a solution... Hope you feel better.

Thank you @Alwayz. I was thinking about menopause and getting worries. I'm only 23 though so I just need to take it one day at a time. Have you found anything that really helps you? Also how long have you been diagnosed?

I've been diagnosed for 18 years with multiple issues. Fibro, spinal stenosis, degenerative joint/disc disease, thoracic Spondalytic myelopathy, etc.... I've not found anything that helps at this point but have been experimenting with nature.. Meaning, dark greens, FRESH herbs like sage, basil, ginger and turmeric. Also magnesium with D, B Complexes, etc.. All of which have anti inflammatory properties. I hoping it helps. One thing it did help is I've lost 90 pounds!! The hot flashes and night sweats are a different story though.. Hang in there. I'm here if you need me.. 💕

Thanks. I'm already on a really restricted diet with my allergies and being vegetarian but I'm thinking of going gluten free for extra anti inflammatory help. I could probably eat more turmeric though too!

I'm glad you mentioned the Gluten... I forgot to mention that.

My fibro flares every cycle and lasts for 3-4 days! It sucks a lot😣 heat packs, supplements and pampering help but still leaves me feeling drained, achey & highly irritated mood wise.

I always know when I'm going to get my period now because an unexpected flare up hits me so hard. I have one full day of not getting out of bed. I'd rather have cramps. 😜
