Fibro Fog

Aug 04, 2015 9:47 AM

Ok. So the other day I had to go to town to pay bills. I ended up putting 460.00 in the wrong account and my husband is furious. I truly believed that I had paid the necessary bill until he got paperwork from the bank to prove otherwise. Is this whats called fibro fog. Do y'all have problems remembering even the simplest things??

Oh, yes I do. Sometimes I feel like such an idiot. But I'm not!! Foggy is definitely the right way to describe it. I have bumbled up so many times... I really try to do the right thing but sometimes my brain seems to go off on its own merry way... Like you being convinced you had the right account. Why would you question it if you were sure?? Yeah my husband gets irritated too but... I try to write things down but who knows if it will even go on the paper right??!! So we do what we can and keep on plugging away!!!! It's frustrating.

The problem in my left brain is there's nothing right and the problem in my right brain is there's nothing left!!! I heard this yesterday and thought... Yup. That is correct! Lol. Good luck and no, you are not alone. Not by a long shot!!!!!

Wow....I thought I was alone. Im so glad I found this app!!♥♥♥

Lol yup, the fun of fibro fog. It can drive me potty. From forgetting simple things. Like this afternoon I brought my charging gear for my iPod downstairs so I could plug it in. Totally lost the plug. Eventually found it on my bed! I must have dropped it. Or four days ago when I was driving to our local coastal area and managed to take a wrong turn and head away from the coast. 😑
I'm always forgetting appointment dates and times. Too often I either miss my midday pills or take them late.
I do try to make notes but I usually end up forgetting where I wrote it down or forgetting to make the note at all. *doh*😳

I keep misplacing things everyday. Like I know I'm looking for the file I was working on 5 minutes ago, couldn't find it for about 15 mins and it was all in my work bag...duh....put my pen one side to find the file, found the file, but lost the pen....double duh....🙈😓

Ashlyjo, you got it! Fibro fog has caused me to go to the wrong appointment location or wrong appt altogether. I've forgotten how to get to destinations I've been driving to over twenty years. I forget what I'm about to say, or forget names of doctors and people in talking to. I can't even remember the names of my neice and nephews. My checkbook and statement is an all day challenge and usually a mess! But the worst was in Dec-Jan when I paid some bills 2-3 times while forgetting to pay others. Thank God we had overdraft protection! We went and set up all but two bills to auto draft every month and now it's so much easier. Do yourself a favor and set up autopay if you can. 🙏🌼

Thank u all for this great support! ! It makes me feel like less of an idiot!! Lol...I hate that things are like this.

We're not the idiots. It's the one's without fibro fog that blow a fuse when we get mixed up, they're the idiots! 🙏🌼

👆🏻😂😂😂 agreed!

Ashlyjo, yup, you called it!!! I get Fibro Fog really badly. I try not to do anything very important while I'm feeling foggy so I know I'm not making any devistating mistakes. I also try not to use my phone either texting or talking because I can't remember what it is I said, or how bad I sound or if my texts make sense. It can be really frustrating. I wish you a less difficult time and some relief from a very frustrating situation.

I have to make lists, set alarms with reminders and at work I have to think extra hard to concentrate. Everyone thinks I am so together. If not for these tools they'd be less than impressed

I personally don't call it fibro fog but I have the symptoms of the fog part, just not fibro. I have ADD (the not outwardly hyper type) and get really spacey. Throw in pain, meds, and no sense of time and you've got me ;)
I just try to keep up, but forget about timing with meds, appointments, and school.
