So I'm new to all of this newer still to migraine. How do u tell the difference between a migraine pain or a fi to headache.
I get these subben stabbing pain in the top of my head behind my ear and my temples. The pain on top of my head causes a tear to come. It's not a crying tear but not of a heart y pressure tear. The other are just very painful. An last from a few minutes to the longest 12hrs.

I have fibro. Sounds like a tension headache. I usually have my muscles all tense before the headache. I get them so bad they are worse than a migraine complete with visual disturbance. The definition of a tension headache is:

Multiple factors can bring on a tension headache, including stress, inadequate sleep, and poor posture.
The main symptom is pain on both sides of the head that may be associated with muscle pain.

When I get mine it just feels like everywhere. At times I have felt like I have a migraine and a tension headache.

I get pain even in my face. When its bad i will find myself biting down hard, and i have to tell myself to try and relax my mouth. But the pain is my whole head and face. And when i sleep, the ear I lay on will ache so bad i cant even touch it. I have to switch, then it almost feels like it drains to the other ear, and then it goes away? I have told the doctor, but she always says my ears look good? Does anyone else have this issue?

I know with my migranes i can tell by if the light is affecting me. I know this may sound strange to some but if the light bothers me or slightest noise. Then I know it's a migrane. I hope this helps. Also when it's my migranes i get sick to the stomach or feel like I'm going to be sick. Only my migranes do that not any other type of headache...

Leah I have that too. Plus ear sore. Which makes me scratch

Bshuler, light is also a key sign mine is a migraine. Noise doesn't bother me. But since I developed sjogrens and lost so many eyelashes, I'm extremely sensitive to light, even on a cloudy day. πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸŒΌπŸ’•

I get the jaw tension and the ear pain. Weird I never heard anyone else mention the ear thing. With me the entire bone behind my ear will hurt too and my ear will feel swollen. I have tried ice packs to no avail.
