Fibro Sleep Test

Apr 19, 2017 10:32 AM

Has anyone had a sleep test done because of Fibro? I am not obese and do not snore. My pulmonary doc said Fibro can alter your oxygen levels and so I go to the hospital on Saturday to have the test performed. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hi gobbette. I'm not overweight and didn't snore either. My doc had me do a sleep test because of my extreme fatigue. It ended up I do have sleep apnea. I wake up 27 times an hour and never go into R.E.M. sleep. I got a coco machine and it helps a lot.

I am overweight and I've never had sleep issues until the stress of an abusive marriage then leaving said marriage. Since then I struggle to sleep thro the night even with the meds I'm on.
I've spent a couple of at my boyfriend's place and he said that I breathe funnily in my sleep, he said my breathing in is fine, it sounds like I'm taking a deep breath in but when I'm breathing out it sounds like the breath gets caught on something and it takes 2 or 3 goes to get the breath out.
I'm not sure if that's part of fibro but I'll be asking my doctor about when I speak to her on Friday

Having a nice warm cup of coco waiting for you would be awesome Frustrated! LOL. My neurologist recommended a sleep study for me after examining my jaw structure. Like you Frustrated, I wasn't overweight but I had debilitating fatigue. The sleep study was positive for sleep apnea. I've been using a CPAP machine for 10+ years. It's made an incredible difference in my quality of life, energy and waking up refreshed. HALLELUJAH‼‼‼👍🏻💯 Wishing you all the best Goobette

I had to have a sleep test because I had horrible daytime sleepiness and had been falling asleep off and on at work and once on my hour and a half drive home. I also could not remember anything and I had a hard time thinking my way out of an open wet bag. This is the same person who has several degrees and works and it programming so it was not a good thing for me. When my speech pattern altered so badly I couldn't say the right words for items my husband took me to the ER cuz he thought I had a stroke. Turns out I didn't think the gods but I did get sent for a sleep study and no sleep apnea I am overweight but I don't snore. But I don't go into REM sleep I kept going down to like stage 2 sleep and then coming back out because my pain levels apparently don't let me get deep enough sleep. I even had to do a repeat study after they gave me sleeping meds and not only made things worse so I take the lesser of two evils and just try to push through with the help of Adderall during the day
