Can anyone suggest any exercises that i can do to really strengthen my "trap" muscles.... physio says they are really elingated on both sides of neck-hence causing pain as they dont do job of supporting neck and shoulders as well...
I got myself some kinesiology tape for my trapizium and rhomboid muscles... its awsome... it takes that pain away almost immediately...and helps train the muscles back i to shape.. provided u put it on correctly... its genius! I bought a book and watched youtube videos with partner so he could put it on properly. Hope it works for u... its brilliant!
Waring mine now... its amazing how a bit of stretchy tape can imediately give such relief! Its about £5 a roll... well worth it... and the best book i resear hed is the one in the picture... off amazon

Thanks lulabel... il search on amazon for tape and book.... i was using the tape when the physio was seeing me weekly... it teally helped and i had some exercises to do too... now he's not using the tape as he wants me to naturally strengthen the muscles..... i keep doing the two exercises he taught me but its really killing me painwise...
Stagefrightgirl, I have the book and it's amazing all the things this tape can be used for. I have tape on the way and looking forward to some shoulder relief (at least stopping it from dislocating until I can get it fixed).
I had the tape on a gentle stretch... More as a reminder to hold myself the correct way with a little assistance and did my exercises then after a while removed the tape. I still tape my problem areas (if i can remember which ones are 'real' pain) before doing something high impact like roller derby.
