So much pain in my neck today almost a migraineπŸ˜”
Have used heat and ice packs plus 2 X maxalt wafers and I still have pain not as bad but still thereπŸ˜•! Have been in hospital and put in a coma 3 X this year first New Year's Day 2 bad couple months back and just in the last 3 weeks this is my 9 th day home and still feeling lethargic and down and teary as I don't want this to happen again to myself and my family who have found me unconscious and had been told I may not make it as my kidneys shit down and then it started going to my lungs! They think it may be all the pain meds I was on Gabapentin 600 mg 3 X per day, Kapanol 50mg twice per day, Nortryptaline or Allergron 25 mg 1 at night and I can't remember the name off the fibro meds and I'm a diabetic type 2 and high blood pressure meds Olmotec 40/25 mg.They think the combi off these meds were making me sleepy and then making me unconscious and almost dying? While in hospital they took me off all medication and lowered my dose off Kapanlol to 2 X 20mg Kapanol per day plus regular panadol and changed high blood pressure tablets too! I am now on waiting list to get into a pain management clinic and it cannot come sooner enough. I'm not sure how I am going to cope when I go back to work Childcare with the pain in my neck before I was put in these medications I was in bed for days every second week with migraines from my neck and vomiting with it it is not at all nice and I find it hard to cope! Is their anyone out there who has been in a similar situation?

I would really like to be able to say that I could offer words of wisdom, but it sounds like you're really having a tough time of late, I hope the pain clinic can helpful to you.

The one thing that does stands out Is your gabapentin, it's an anti - convulsant that works by numbing neuron activity in the brain (this is what I have been told, but if anyone has contradictory info please shout out) so from the sounds of it the hospital did the right thing by taking you off all meds and starting again, although I hope they did not just stop with your daily dose been 1800mg/day as that can really mess up the brain too.

I have 2 torn rotator cuffs, arthritis in hands feet knees, diabetic, siatcia, deteratoring disc in neck and lower back. I was at the point where drugs wernt working and went to pain clinic. I get injections in my neck, shoulders every 4-5 weeks and injec in my lower back and hips every 4-5 months along with an epidural. It doesnt take all the pain away but It makes a difference of whether. I can work or not. I work full time. I hope you also will get some relief. Good luck. Your in my prayers.

Oct 22, 2015 4:43 AM

Hi Safety yes they did take me straight of the Gabapentin! They told me that Gabapentin is not addictive so shouldn't have an effect on me but yes have been teary and emotional can't sleep fully but don't know wether that's psychological because I'm terrified I won't wake up but as each night goes by its getting a little easier! They have kept me on the Kapanol 40 mg for the day I was on 100 mg a day so yes I felt the effects of that as my body felt all crawly and irritated:(
Hi Caregiver
Thanks for ur message I really feel for you with all your pain I hope the pain clinic does have some answers and help for me too as the pain is unbearable most days!
Thank you for The info on the injections I really appreciate it😊

Oct 22, 2015 1:48 PM

Vicstar, You've really been through the mill this year. I'm glad they've changed your meds since they think that's what was causing your unconsciousness. It's likely going to take time for your body to adjust. And that may be why your pain & headaches are so bad, the meds change. If you have any pain ointment you could run that on your shoulders and neck. I wish I could offer some other suggestions. You're in my prayers. πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Oct 23, 2015 8:25 AM

VicStar, I have horrible issues with my neck and shoulders and the migraines come often and last longer than I can sometimes bear. I am chronic insomniac so I am always tired. My rheumy and neuro docs both told me that folks with Fibro can rarely achieve REM sleep (which is the deep restorative sleep we all need to rejuvenate ourselves for the next day). I am on many, many medications and when I started to take Zanaflex (a muscle relaxer), the reaction I had was falling asleep while I was eating, talking, once I fell asleep standing up and fell in a heap on the floor!! I still take that medication but in a much smaller dose and do not have that problem any longer. It's frightening to think that you've been in a coma 3 times. I hope and pray that the doctor can find a way to help alleviate some of your pain and that never happens to you again. Sending gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers your way. Hang in there.πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Oct 24, 2015 5:46 AM

Alwayzinpain thanks for ur message😊 since going off meds my neck and shoulders are just constantly in pain I have been using heat and cold packs and rapid gel and maxalt wafers before the pain turns into a migraine! I have been googling some meds I was on and the combo I was on doesn't look good I was on Cymbalta for fibro and I read that if u take maxalt with this you can get serotonin syndrome which is putting to much serotonin into your brain and this can cause unconsciousness so will ask the pain clinic when they send me s letter with an appointment? I can't wait for this appointment as I need some sort of pain relief although I don't want to go back to square one either!! Take care πŸ’œ

Oct 24, 2015 5:58 AM

Hi Caregiver thanks for info regarding injections I'm glad u get relief from these😊 is this something that the pain clinic organised for u? And do they do it at the clinic or do u go to an ultrasound X-ray place? I have cortisone injections in my shoulders for the Bursitus but each time I go they question why the injections don't last long and it depends what I do if I use my arms to hang out washing scrub a bath or wall wash the car I end up in soo much pain I end up with bad migraines so now my hubby does all this for me now and it makes me feel so guilty and worthless!! Take care hugs ur way x

Oct 24, 2015 7:58 AM

Vicstar there are a couple of things I wanted to address with you from your last post. First, you are NOT worthless. You are a vital and loved part of your family and loved by your daughter and hubby! Second, you haven't gone and relinquished the tasks you spoke of because you can't be arsed to do them. You did it because you have a physical illness. I know it's easier said than done but you need to change your way of thinking. Guilt should not be a factor in this (although there are times I feel guilty when I can't take my folks somewhere or if I can't attend an event). Your hubby may not like doing these things but he does them because he knows that you are unable or that if you do them you will end up in horrible pain. It is a balancing game of trying to do things when you are feeling up to it and then not overdoing it that you suffer for it. You didn't ask for this to happen to you, but it has and you just have to live your life making adjustments so you can function and not suffer for it too much. Keep a journal of things you can do along with what triggers more pain or what helps you feel a bit better. I wish you all the best. Keep your chin up and remember that you ARE important and never worthless. Sending you gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers your way and hope that today is a better day with less pain. πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Oct 24, 2015 10:33 AM

Vicstar, none of us are worthless. We didn't ask for our illnesses and we shouldn't feel guilty because of our limitations. You're not only important to your family, you are important to this community. We're all an extended group of friends, family like, that understands and supports each other. It's going to take time adjusting to every new dx that comes along. I've struggled over the last year due to so many new problems. But the support found here has really helped. AlwayZ suggestions for journaling is very important because it will help you not only identify triggers, but it helps you voice, like self counseling. I'm wishing you all the best. Turn to us when ever you need to. We're your friends and understand your pain. You're in my prayers! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Oct 24, 2015 6:42 PM

Hi Vicstar, I got a referral from my Dr. To go to Dr at pain clinic he sat and we went over my history. And did my neck and shoulder inj right them. I went back a week later he did the lower back and epidural. They kept for 1/2 hr. To make sure I was ok . please don't be hard in yourself, there s nothing wrong with the family helping you. You will feel better resting its the only way to heal I know I because I kept on going now have permanent damage to one of my rotator cuffs, but unfortunately I have to work and don't get very much help at home. Marmouse and FlappysLady81 have been very supportive for me. Like they don't already have enough to deal with but they always find the time to support us. Hugs and prayers.

Oct 24, 2015 8:24 PM

Thanks everyone for your support I really appreciate it 😘
Yes I too have to work and before going on these pain drugs I wasn't coping well and having days off!
each week and now they have taken me off them again I'm a little worried about how I am going to cope again as other people who don't understand can be cruel and judgmental and gossip behind your back and Think your just having an awesome day off but your not your in bed suffering!! Next week is my last week off and then I will prob go back to work as I need the money cant live on thin air!!🌺

Oct 24, 2015 9:28 PM

What pain meds do you take. Also I go to the recreation center and use the hot tub, it really helps.

Oct 25, 2015 4:46 AM

They had me on Cymbalta 60mg per day, Kapanol 100mg per day, Nortriptaline 25mg per day, Gabapentin 1800mg per day, maxalt wafers 10mg when migraine comes on, Olmotec 40:25mg per day high blood pressure med and diabetic meds Metformin 500mg twice per day.
I will have to have a look around here on coast to see if they have a hot tub anywhere as thought it may help! Have u tried TENS before? As I haven't and want to know if one would be worth it? I guess I will only know if I try!! I am off to a guy tomorrow who does acupuncture, reiki and all that jazz so I'm hoping he can do something for me and make me smile again as I have been in tears everyday just feeling depressed 😐 I'm thinking it's because they took me straight of all meds while I was in hospital and dropped my Kapanol down to 40mg per day when I prob should have been weaned off them but I guess they and me and my family can't risk me becoming unconscious again considering this was my 3rd time lucky and they weren't sure wether I would make it each time!!
I know this might sound like a stupid thing to ask or say but I have been constipated since going off all meds and coming out off hospital and my guts is so sore any suggestions to help with this problem too??? Have tried drinking warm water!! And also does anybody know or has gone off these meds how long it takes for them to get out of your system as I'm over feeling depressed and down too?😒

Oct 25, 2015 5:22 AM

My chiro used tens and it did work a little, acupuncture also worked a bit. But you have to have it done for a long time. It seems just as the insurance runs out the treatments start to work. I was on metforme for many years until my guts and stomach hurt so bad . my dr. Took me off metform snd put me on insulin. Which is much better guts my guts are pretty good again.. Although I get bouts of diarrhea. But I think thats my other meds.drink lots of water daily and fibre like salads, oatmeal fruit this will also help with your diabetes, it keeps the blood sugar down.

Oct 25, 2015 5:30 AM

Thanks Caregiver I really appreciate your advice😊

Oct 25, 2015 5:32 AM

Caregiver what other meds do u take for pain other Than the injections?

Oct 25, 2015 5:56 AM

I take tylynol 3, torodol , muscle relaxers also I can't live without my antiinflammatory/ pain killer arthrotec twice a day.

Oct 25, 2015 5:31 PM

Does the anti inflammatory pain killer arthrotec make u drowsy at all? And is that the muscle relaxer u are talking about? Tylenol is that just a panadol?
Did the pain clinic put u in these or GP? 😚

Oct 25, 2015 11:03 PM

Arthrotec doesn't make me drowsy it can be hard on the stomach for some people. I can't remember the antiinflammatory but I will let you know.. No Tylenol is just Tylenol I use Tylenol 3 which has 30 mg of codine. Sometimes I use tramadol alkso for pain. I go back and forth with pain meds depending on pain level and whether I can stay home or not. My gp. Put me on the pain meds , but the pan Dr can also prescribe them for you. I will let you know about the muscle relaxants. Sometimes just advil or aleave works. I hope this helps. Hugs & prayers.

Oct 26, 2015 3:09 AM

Thanks😊 I went and got acupuncture this afternoon and heard myself go to snore a couple of times but wouldn't let myself go into a deep sleep as I didn't want everyone hearing me snore plus the tension in my neck and shoulders was still there and is still now I was hoping it would disappear for awhile maybe tomorrow it will feel a bit better who knows I will wait and see? I looked up new meds they gave me in hospital for high blood pressure metropolol and I told the acupuncture guy about them he said his wife was on them and she got depressed etc like me so my depression etc could most likely be from them all the symptoms they have I have gotten them itchy skin constipation racing and slowing heart rate heart palpitations emotional so have made an app to see my doc wed about them:( can't win a trick do these docs have any idea??

Oct 26, 2015 12:04 PM

I take covrtsyl for B. P. no side affects. Maybe ask Dr about them.

Oct 26, 2015 3:10 PM

Will do thanks

Oct 28, 2015 9:30 PM

Oct 29, 2015 9:40 AM

Good luck Vicstar! I'm waiting for my appt, 11/16. We will discuss the treatment plan. Hugs & prayer you will get good help with your pain! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Oct 30, 2015 5:26 PM

Thanks😊 Has anyone tried SenarTherapy I have heard really good things about it? It's like TENS but more up market some people say they are cured of their pain after one go! U rub this machine on your pain areas it sends signals to ur brain and it releases endorphins etc and it helps with the pain or can cure what's making the pain say if it's shoulder pain apparently it can fix it so your pain free?? Now that sounds awesome my hubby came home from work yesterday and told me one of his work mates has one so am going to borrow it and give it a go! I will let u know how it goes when I have tried it! Fingers crossed πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Oct 30, 2015 7:00 PM

Never heard of it. Keep us posted! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Nov 01, 2015 12:52 PM

If you can, save up and buy some Gravity Defyer shoes. They're the most comfortable I've ever written. So cushioned! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Nov 01, 2015 1:30 PM

Where are you vicstar? What type of coma did you do? Serotonin syndrome is really really rare . Did they confirm it? You could have died if so and would have grounds to sue! I am sorry you are in this place. We each live our personal hell but you can do more than you think. Hang in there!

Nov 02, 2015 4:52 PM

Last night first night I tried the scenar therapy machine and it seemed to have helped the pain until early hours of this morning where I had to get up and use Ice packs. So I'm hoping this machine is going to fix me it was made in Russia for people who went up into space to rid of their ailments while up there as their was no medicine!! No I don't get diagnosed with serotonin syndrome I have never been tested and no doctor had ever kept an eye on it while I was on all that pain medication which I believe they are. Suppose too? I have stopped metropolol now as it was making me feel teary and depressed and now that feeling has calmed down thank goodness😊 I am dreading going back tomorrow next week with my neck and shoulder pain being so bad though!!

Nov 03, 2015 11:24 PM

I think the scenar Is helping with the pain! I'm not sure how to use properly yet I am going to a scenar therapist on Thursday arvy to have my first treatment from someone who knows what they are doing as they are trained and she is also going to show me how to use so this will be good! I will let u know how it goes! I woke up early this morning with a migraine but it ended up going away thank goodness! Have had some neck and shoulder pain but after I use this machine it eases for awhile! 😊 Has anyone else ever used this treatment?

Nov 04, 2015 7:08 AM

Vicstar, I actually haven't heard of it before. I am so glad this I seemingly helpful to you, that's wonderful. I am really happy for you!!! I hope that you have continued success and that your pain continues to decrease. I'm going to check into this treatment and see if my insurance will cover it. Sending best wishes and prayers your way. πŸŒ»πŸ™πŸ»

Nov 04, 2015 4:53 PM

Woke up around 4.30 massive pain in neck and shoulders and slight migraine coming on again:( so got up and had a maxalt and layed in couch couldn't go back to sleep as I get worried when everyone is off to work as I don't want to be at home alone and become unconscious so am very tired now! I'm off to have scenar treatment at 1.45 so will let u all know how I feel after it! Was a little teary last night just a but depressed still:( probably because I am so sick off being in pain and not having any meds to help it at moment. Still haven't got an appointment from pain clinic I feel like ringing them and telling them to get a move on as I have to go back to work next week which I'm dreading especially while I have this pain and I want to go back because I'm soo bored but then it's nice being at home where if I'm in pain I can get an ice pack or whatever and lay down and watch Tele or something!! It's my sons 22nd birthday today so am having a family dinner tonight just hope I feel OK as I was in hospital for his 21st last year and that made me feel awful and sad! I guess it's great I'm not in hosp this time and I'm here for him today!
THANKYOU everyone for always sending me wishes. I know I don't return the favour most times but please know I am thinking off u all everyday and hope that u all get some relief and try to have a good day I know it's very hard to have a good day when your in pain and all u can do is lay around! I get so lonely here when everyone has gone to work and I can't wait for them to get home I get really annoyed when my hubby doesn't get home until 6/7 o'clock at night from his job and then it's dinner pretty much and then bed because I'm exhausted from being up so early in the mornings in pain!! So sorry for whinging! Sending U all love πŸ’œπŸ’•πŸ’™πŸ’š

Nov 05, 2015 2:26 AM

I went to my scenar appointment and she made me put my hand in this machine and it showed her all the spots in my whole body that weren't working well lots of nerve damage, large intestine, pancreas etc she then used the scenar machine and worked on all those areas when she was finished I felt good she also gave me some drops to take morning and lunch that is suppose to work on all those areas too and give me more energy etc. she also said it may take me a few sessions for the pain to go away as I have had it for along time 13 yrs but she seems to think it will work! I hope so I hate living in a body that feels 69 not 44 so annoying just not being able to do the things I want and need to do:( I felt nauseous all day but when she had finished that had gone which was good as all I did all day was lay in the couch because I felt so yuk!!

Nov 05, 2015 9:36 AM

No worries about not posting a lot. Know that when you're lonely, you can always come here and chat and there will be someone to hang out with you and give you some comfort. I hope your son has a wonderful 22nd birthday. Since your treatment went well, you'll be able to make dinner, just don't overdo it!! I'm going to be 50 on Monday and I feel like I'm in my 80's so I can relate. Hang in there and know you have an entire family of pain warriors behind you to support you when you need it. Sending you {{{Hugs}}} and prayers.πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Nov 05, 2015 2:26 PM

THANKYOU for your support alwaysinpain it means a lot! I have been waking up early for s couple of weeks now as I feel as though I can't breathe and my heart is racing and my tummy feels nauseous I think I know what it is I'm having panic attacks as I'm worried about falling asleep when my hubby etc goes to work I don't want to be here alone and become unconscious so I have to deep breathe and I come and lay on the couchπŸ˜• I have a bit of a headache this morning and my neck is annoying me! I'm off to see doctor this morning to get a clearance to go back to work next week and I don't know if I'm ready as I can't sleep properly and I wanted to feel a lot better with my pain and pain clinic still hasn't organised an appointment for me it's now been 3 weeks!!! I wish they would hurry up!!

Nov 05, 2015 2:36 PM

Is anyone on a disability pension because of their pain and unable to work from it? And how do u try to get disability pension for a pain injury I feel as though I can't work but I need some sort of money help as we wouldn't survive on my hubbbys wage??

Nov 08, 2015 3:39 PM

This morning woke up to find I have my period I haven't he them for 2 years maybe my body is going back to normal now they have taken me off all pain meds? I'm truly not excited about getting my period back I loved not having them!! I am also waking up aroun 4 every morning in massive pain in neck and shoulders so over not getting much sleep and soo over being in so much pain:( going to have a scenar treatment this arvy I hope it makes me feel less pain?? Please hurry up pain clinic:( I go back to work tomorrow and work 3 days then I'm off until the next Tuesday I am really dreading going back while I am in so much pain! I really need some pain relief I am not coping very well!! Maybe my appointment might turn up in the mail today I hope so???!!!

Nov 08, 2015 9:05 PM

That really sucks, Vicstar!! When my thyroid was removed I was thrown into immediate menopause. They gave me progestin to bring the periods back because they said I was too young to start going through Menopause. Well, the Progestin didn't work and it didn't keep my periods. I'd get one and then no more until he gave me another cycle of Progestin.. The end result was that I told the endocrinologist/gynecologist that I didn't want any more hormones because the side effects were not good (cramping, not getting my periods anyway and also I was worried about cancer, etc..) At any rate, I went for 13 years without one. I guess after that time, I had gone through major changes in my body and BAM.. There it was. Went to the endo/gyn and he said that I was now in the "natural" process of menopause and at the correct time of my life. I never, ever know when I'm going to get it so I always HAVE to be prepared. I sure know what you mean about working. I hope that little terrorist of a boy starts to really behave and not give you so much grief. I am sending you gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers to help you get through. Hang in there, we're ALL in this together ansΕ›cAa

Nov 09, 2015 4:44 AM

The lady who has started to do the scenar treatment on me said I probably got my period from the machine aligning my body she could be right?? I wish the treatment would fix my damn neck though!!πŸ˜ͺ so over the pain today when I'm finished work tomorrow I am going to ring the pain clinic and tell them I need an appointment asap because I am sick of waiting in pain!!
I told the doc that I think I have been having panic attacks he said withdrawals can do this I have now been off pain meds for 4 weeks so doc said give it 2 more weeks then if I keep getting it to go back!!
I have been very emotional teary this arvy from the pain and because I am going back to work tomorrow and I'm dreading it:(
Well I'm off to bed as I have to get up for work tomorrow so goodnight everyone take care and will let u know how I go tomorrow!!!🌸

Nov 09, 2015 4:51 AM

Via star, I completely understand. My body also has not had a "normal" cycle since April or May. Have been on progestins since September 18th I believe and now, it decides to start again. I believe mine is from absolute stress these past couple weeks. Waiting for grandma to pass, 1 surgery, 1 procedure, etc. I wish the little terrorist would go away and stay away already. Already have to go back to the gyn after ER visit so might as well, just get them to deal with both.

Nov 09, 2015 8:53 PM

Vicstar, you are in my thoughts and prayers! I'm praying your appt will come very spoon! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Nov 10, 2015 2:14 AM

Didn't sleep at all last night panic attacks all night and dry reaching around 4 this morning. My first day back at work today do not sure wether I was having anxiety because of it :( my hubby said I shouldn't go to work but I did and my gets felt churned up all day! I was suppose to finish at 3.30 and I was going to ring pain clinic to see why my app is taking so long but didn't get to finish work until 4.30 so by the time I picked up my daughter it was 5 so I couldn't call. I am suppose to finish at 3 tomorrow so will call tomorrow arvy! Do u think this is being pushy or fair enough I'm over being in pain and especially now I'm back at work struggling to keep it together?? I did something I shouldn't have today and I feel weak and terrible but I couldn't cope with the pain at work so I had a nurofen plus and I'm not suppose to have any pain meds but what do I do???:(

Nov 10, 2015 6:49 AM

Vic, I would be pushy and see what is taking so long. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Nov 10, 2015 6:55 AM

Hmmmm, interesting you would use that phrase.. Seems I had to tell you the same thing not long ago.. LOL!! I'm glad you remembered. It's nice to know that my advice is helpful.😜 {{{Hugs}}} πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Ok take s been a while since I have talked to you all, I hope everyone is doing OK. My new job keeps me on my feet. And boy are the sore, arthritis its not usually this bad, ok its along the outside of my feet burning stabbing pain my pain killers sent even working. I did get the antii gravity shoes and the are comfortable thanks FlappysLady81. Hugs and prayers to all.

Vicstar, there are these small straps that you can get in the surgical supply store that go around your upper forearm and helps relieve the pain of tendinitis (tennis elbow). I have had trouble with my shoulders for years and the left one has no recognizable joint left and the right one is rapidly failing. I have tears beneath my shoulder blades as well and have something called winging scapulas which is caused by long thoracic nerve palsy in my case. The pain of my cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine is crippling and when the weather gets bad, it's worse. I was away for 5 days in the mountains and mentally felt fabulous but it was rough on my body. When I got home, I got sick and have been running fevers of up to 102.6 πŸ€’and have sores in my mouth and aches and pains all over. The dentist feels that one of the sores was pretty badly infected and it caused the gland under my jawbone to become infected as well. I am on antibiotics (broad spectrum) since they are not sure if that is all that is making me sick. I'm also having a double whammy of a fibro flare AND an RSD flare so I'm having a bit of a rough go but it will ease off eventually and will get bad again and better again. Everyone knows how that goes unfortunately. I hope the doctors can find something that helps you with your shoulder pain. Perhaps when it gets really bad you can rest it on and off with a sling to take the pressure off of it. Sending {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that things improve πŸŒ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜Š

You are an amazing person to keep so positive yet be in so much pain. Most days its all I can do to get home from work and lay down and take pain meds.

Nov 23, 2015 12:32 PM

Caregiver, I'm glad they're working out. And I hope you're enjoying your job. Hugs & prayers to you too! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

AlwayZ, you aren't feeling any better? You haven't taken pneumonia or something have you? I get sick from the atmosphere in the mountains because of my asthma. It turned cold overnight and I'm wearing sweats in 56 degree weather... and freezing! My bursitis has flared and my hands have Arthritis developing too. πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Nov 23, 2015 9:02 PM

I haven't taken the pneumonia shot, Flappsy. Nor the flu shot for that matter. I have a bad infection in my mouth (sores, especially one of them and the submandibular gland is infected from it. I also think I have a bug and on top of that I am flaring from both Fibro and CRPS/RSD. I've been running fevers from the day after I returned and have been home for a week. I've spiked 102.8 and also lower ones of 101.4. I spoke to my doctors and they said that when you are in a severe flare the inflammation in your body become so over the top that your white blood cells attack and your SED Rate goes off the charts and presents as an infection with fever, chills, sweats, etc. I'm very tired and weak and have had a 3'day migraine which is effecting my vision in my left eye. (That's nothing new for me though). It has impeded me from recuperating from my trip. I am on Augmenten 875mg 4x/day and at this point it's making me have really bad GERD and I've been throwing up. It hasn't been an easy week, that's for sure but it will get better and I'll be just fine. I've been resting and then going outdid to walk and get some fresh air and then back to bed. No worries, like I said, with my pain family and the Grace of God, things will get better (and then worse and then better, blah, blah, blah.. You know how it goes). So, one second, one moment, one day at a time and I'll be all good. Thanks for checking on me, Flappsy, I sure have missed you!! {{{{Hugs}}}} πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Prayers said and sent your way my dear friend, Alwayszinpain. Being sick or being in pain is hard enough by themselves but when you mix them and add other things to the mix it makes for a very tough and miserable time and I hate that for you or for anyone so I pray that God heals you and relieves your body of any and all sickness, inflammation, infections, vomiting, flu, colds, flare ups from your CRPS/RSD and fevers, chills etc. I just ask for healing right now for my friend in Jesus name I pray. AMEN and Amen. Get some rest and drink plenty of liquids. Keep me posted on how you are. Sending you lots of thoughts and prayers and well wishes and gentle hugs. Goodnight.

Thanks Vicstar and thank you for the healing prayers Irishgirl. That means a lot to me and I know that it will subside in time. My throat feels like it's getting an acid bath from the digestive distress the antibiotic and whatever infection(s) are making me sick. I'm very tired and weak but haven't been to bed yet. I feel like I'm going to throw up... Ugh I hate that, it's one of the worst kinds of sick you can feel. Hope everyone else had a peaceful night's sleep and wakes to a blessed Tuesday with little or no pain.πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

My back has been in sooo much pain this week unbearable have had to lay on the flat floor a couple of times throughout the days😒 it is sooo hot here at the moment to I hate this heat!!
One bonus I guess at least I'm not working!

Nov 30, 2015 3:36 PM

Don't want to have to go to work today due to my back and my right shoulder blade and shoulder being in absolute pain but don't want to let them down at work seeing as I have had a lot of time off this year I'm between a rock and a hard place😒

Nov 30, 2015 5:48 PM

Vistagirl I understand what you are going through. I went through the same thing from 2001-2003 before I finely came to realize that I wasn't being fair to everyone else at my job.By not beeing able to work. It is such a hard decision to make. Will keep you in my prayers and sending hugs your way.

Nov 30, 2015 6:21 PM

Vicstar, I'm so sorry you're hurting so badly. I'm having scapular pain and the doc said it's from my neck; from the discs they won't do anything about because of the risk of paralyzation. Is the cervical spine what's causing yours? My hubby always massages voltaren gel in and then I microwave my rice pack for my back. It helps some to alleviate the current flare up in the scapulae only, but doesn't help the neck. I hope you will feel better spoon. (((Hugs ))) & a prayer tomorrow will be better, and each day after that even more. πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Vicstar I was reading the thread from the beginning so I would understand everyone and saw where you mentioned serotonin syndrome. This is very dangerous. I went through this last year and ended up in hospital for a week and they didn't recognize it. This after suffering 8 episodes of small stroke-like symptoms. Once you have went through serotonin syndrome you must be extra careful the rest if your life when dealing with any medication that is serotonin or melatonin related. It could cause you to go through it again much worse than the first time. I was told I was lucky to survive as a very large percentage of people don't. Please be careful and always double check ALL ingredients in meds. They have had me list serotonin and melatonin with allergies so a mistake isn't made.

Thanks for your message I appreciate that and yes very scary isn't it?😊

Dec 04, 2015 9:51 PM

Extremely, I was terrified! All I could think about was leaving my daughter without a mother. When they couldn't find a cause or reason it was even scarier. The PA at the local Rapid Care is the one who figured it out because she had seen it before. The Psychiatrist that prescribed the meds and Cognitive Behavior Therapy still won't recognize the dx because he said he wouldn't prescribe meds that would put anyone in harms way.He just wants to cover his butt. So part of my medical records have the dx and part doesn't but everyone has the allergies listed.

I hope you have had a decent day today painwise.

I am going to try to post a My Story and treatments that helped for a while. I wish I could access this on the laptop as it would make typing so much easier. Maybe someone will see something they haven't tried that will work for them.

I know what you mean Vicatar
