Finally got an answer after two years

Jun 19, 2018 10:46 AM

I had to see my doc because I was running out of meds, but I could not an appt until September. I had to go to their urgent care clinic where I got this woman doctor who took me very seriously, did some in-office tests and took the time to listen to what I was saying. She had just had a couple of similar cases and she sent me for an MRI and it turns out I have advanced degenerative disc disease and stenosis on multiple levels. Five minutes with a new doctor by chance after suffering for the last couple of years.

I am more than a little pissed at my Doctor for not really looking into what my symptoms were. I have suffered for the last couple of years for nothing. The MRI person called me the next day with the results which was very surprising. My own doctor didn't even have the nerve to call me with the news. He got his nurse to call my wife with the news to tell me. Wow!

My wife called the neurosurgeon's office and the are reviewing it tomorrow. Nobody wants surgery, but to get rid of the pain, I say sign me up, enough is enough. I want to have a life again. Basically it boils down to this: the nerves at the base of the neck are being squeezed and screwing up all my limbs, balance, coordination and fine motor skills such as touch.

I make my diary entries every day but have not posted in a while, because I need all my energy to work and try to live a life. At the very least now I know it was not all in my head!

Best of luck to you all on your journey.

Wow! I'm glad you finally have an answer. It sucks your doc couldn't figure it out. It was good hearing from you.

Just a suggestion, get a copy of that MRI and of the report. Read it yourself. Look at the images also.

I am glad to know after years , there was a diagnoses made, I had a similar experience for years I complained of muscle spasms in both legs and lower back pain until my PCP grew tired of prescribing Muscle relaxants, at first she thought I was having side affects from my BP medications, then she was suspicious that since I had rhabdomylosis in 2016 as a result of statins other test needed to be done, until I had 1 x-ray and 2 MRI’s and it was discovered I had DDD with Stenosis in the Cervical spine and Spondylitis in the Lumbar spine, sometimes we have to go through a lot of pain to find out so much later it’s not just our imagination. It becomes a relief to find out there is actually something not right, and we begin to try to fix it

Thanks everyone I hope you all get an answer.
Hang in there everyone.
When this hit me big time I thought I was going crazy!
It's nice to know that there is something wrong and it is all in my head but just in the bones and not the brain.

Thank God they figured it out. I'm waiting on my car, and multiple MRIs. I don't feel like they believe me but they're taking notes and ordering tests. Already did blood work, eeg, and nerve conduction studies.
