Very Sad Here In Washington With People Losing Thier Homes And being evacuated. The worst happened yesterday when 3 firefighters were killed. 4 injured and one of those is in critical condition. To make matters worse the governor contacted the president who basically said keep my staff informed and if federal help is needed they will send it. Hello half the state is on fire the military base here is training soldiers to fight fires.
Shammagren, my hubby said this weekend after were saw the news, "Where is our federal government helping with the fires and drought? They're not slow to offer aid to other countries in catastrophies!". My heart aches looking at the news and seeing the devastation. I found out about the deaths and injuries this morning. The weather keeps saying the west will be a wetter come fall, but I'm praying God sends rain immediately & that no more lives are lost! What's not on fire is killing the crops. 🙏🌼
The west is definitely doing bad. I guess the wind is coming from the south, so that's part of the heat. Is odd because just a year ago we had snow, enough that entire neighborhoods were out of water and electricity for months. Seems like its trying to be opposite.
I'm really hoping rain will come finally. Heading north today, just into Washington to see family, then head home. The valley here seems like an expert at trapping smoke, sunsets have never been this pretty. But the small beauty is tragic with the fire, and the sky being this ugly lavender grey with no clouds in the sky. I don't see a lot of news, so I didn't know anyone had died. All I know is the fires are gonna get me in urgent care soon, and the coast is one of the few places to escape.
Our can't pay our cable bill so I didn't see any of this until yesterday, but knew their was some fire by ferritbandit. Glad to see that your still with us, I'll be praying for you! I have a friend in California and I thought I herd their were fires their too, if that's the case it's going to be hard to fight it with their water shortage from their drought.
Thank you, I live in Washington but thankfully nowhere near the fires, but I've seen what fire does firsthand, a neighbors home on the other side of our fence like 150 or so feet from our house caught fire on the Fourth of July because of fireworks. The house is a total loss most of the fire damage was done to the roof but the house is a total loss due to fire and water damage, I can see the house when I look out my bathroom and our storage room window, my parents and oldest brother(he lives on his own) came home just after it started, I was home alone sleeping and I remember waking up and hearing odd noises and getting that feeling that I should check it out and falling back asleep the next thing I know my moms waking me up to tell me the neighbors house is on fire. It was heartbreaking and very scary, my brother and dad watered down the side of our house where my room, bathroom, and our storage room is and our chimney. My heart breaks for those who are losing and have lost their homes, pets, loved ones. I hope and pray we get a good amount of rain, I want a week of rain but heavy rain where the fires are to help knock them down a bit. It's been so hot and dry this summer, I can't remember the last time we had a summer like this. I just want the fires to be put out and for no one else to be hurt or killed or anymore animals to be killed and no more homes destroyed. It's scary. Just please pray. I'm so heartbroken and stressed and my emotions are everywhere. I hope that the weather gets cool and stays there and that all the hot days are done.
