Fitbit users??

Jan 24, 2017 11:08 AM

My hubby bought me a Fitbit Charge 2 for Christmas, because I need to track my heart rate & activities & diet, and I wanted to track my sleep. I was shocked at how many times I wake or I'm restless, without even realizing it. I know when I'm awake & restless, but the other times I want. I'm also moving around more, averaging 5,000+ steps a day. I can't wait to show my doctors. Anyone else use a Fitbit product?

Jan 24, 2017 11:11 AM

Must check into that. Thought it was just fitness tracker. Glad you mentioned it.

Jan 24, 2017 11:18 AM

Flappsy, I have the same one!! I got it for Christmas as well. I love it. Now my family believe me when I tell them I didn't sleep.. LMAO!!!πŸ’•

Jan 24, 2017 11:29 AM

I didnt realize it could do ALL THAT..i will have to check into them more

Jan 24, 2017 11:35 AM

Same here AlwayZ! My hubby was fussing about me keeping him awake, until he saw how bad my sleep is! Lol

Jan 24, 2017 11:43 AM

I am so glad you have found some smiles on this treacherous journey we are all on! I will have to check that out. I didn't know that it did that all that either. I had no interest in them until this thread. Thanks Flappyslady! & everyone else. Laurie

Jan 24, 2017 11:45 AM

Yes I call mine my "fitb*tch" I like seeing how my sleep is going, I can't walk around much but it reminds me ive been sitting for a long time and that is helpful.

Jan 24, 2017 3:24 PM

My brother and sister have then and they almost go on like it's a race to see who'll get their steps up first!!! Lol because they were over at mums for Christmas Jo saw them and really liked the idea of them so when I had a little extra money she searched amazon and found one she liked the look of....unfortunately that one I had to send back due to it stopped working but she found another one which is the watch itself is better but the app to go with it isn't as good as the other one.
It's not a fitbit but it suits what she wants which is to count steps and her Pediatric Diabetic Nurse will be very happy with it....she's averaging about 6000+ steps a day.

I'm going to get one for me but I'm gonna have to wait a while....I've had to invest in a newer car as mine is going to cost anywhere between Β£1000 to Β£1500 to fix and she's only worth what I'd get for scrap! So money will be tight for a while

Jan 24, 2017 4:40 PM

I got a fit bit over a year ago. I got it so I could see my heart rate when I'm feeling anxious. There is do sooo much they can do besides track your steps.

Jan 24, 2017 5:16 PM

I have the Garmin Vivofit. Same idea, just a different company

Jan 24, 2017 6:15 PM

I have a Fitbit Blaze that doubles as a watch, and I find it helpful for monitoring my sleep, maintaining my goal of 4000 steps a day, seeing how many calories I burn each day, and making sure I drink enough water

Jan 24, 2017 7:01 PM

Well I've been dropping hints for my family to get me a Fitbit flex 2 forvnyb birthday. Congrats on your steps.

Jan 24, 2017 7:29 PM

My daughter uses it. She lost over 50 pounds.

Jan 24, 2017 9:08 PM

I've been wanting one but don't have the extra funds right now. My birthday is next week so I'm going to start hinting to my children this week.πŸ˜ƒ

Jan 24, 2017 9:22 PM

I love having my fitbit as it allows me to give my doctor a rather accurate sleep schedule instead of just a guess. Plus even though I lose most days due to pain I love the step "battles" aspect of it!

Jan 24, 2017 11:38 PM

I got the Fitbit Charge 2 and I love it. It has kept me accountable and has also gotten me to get up each hour and move around. (I call it my Shitbit... LOL). Actually "Shitbit2" because my bff calls it that and we laugh that I ended up with the same model. I had originally set it at 1k steps and rapidly got it up to 3k and have been hitting between 4-6k steps a day. Sometimes I can't and then my OCD makes me feel like a failure (however my bff is such a tremendous support system for me that I'm getting over that). I love that you can scan barcodes and this way when you add your meals in, it's so easy and your calories are tracked with no fuss: (and to see the difference between what you take in and burn up is charted for you). I've been a bad girl abd haven't eaten for the last 3 days.. not consciously starving myself or anything, just the way it's been, I'm not normally hungry and I can't eat if I'm not hungry. I have to work on that (people think all I do is eat when they look at meπŸ™„). At any rate.. TWO THUMBS UP for the Shitbit abd for the other trackers that anyone may be using: I think they're a great tool in our pain journey. Hope everyone is well!! {{Hugs}}πŸ’•πŸ€—

The Fitbit Charge2 also has a watch, along with the date. Since I can't keep up with the date anymore this is a bonus I really need. I was going to look at other brands, but sadly couldn't remember the names of the products.

Jan 25, 2017 8:09 PM

The watch feature is actually the reason i bought the Garmin. At the time it was the only one that was a watch too, not just a tracker

Jan 25, 2017 8:59 PM

Got mine a few weeks ago and same deal with the sleep. I knew it was bad, but geeze. My coworkers don't understand how I even function day to day after I showed them.

Jan 25, 2017 10:14 PM

I've had one for over a year and it's been wonderful in helping me see when I struggled with sleep, and helped me also see what helped. I realized the more better sleep I got the better my heart rate was though the day. It's been a serious help!

Jan 26, 2017 12:44 AM

I tried the older fitbits. I was shocked too at how many times I'm awake or move at night. My doctors finally believed me too. Since I had proof

Jan 26, 2017 11:43 AM

I have it as well. But what is a normal amount of restless minutes? I am tired all day because I wake up too often during the night according to me. But I do not know what is normal... I really like the tracking of steps..it makes me move every hour when it reminds me to walk a few steps more to reach my goal!

Jan 26, 2017 4:25 PM

I don't know what"normal restless" would be. But I think this tracking is a way to show how badly our sleep is affected. This is a screenshot of last night's sleep & restlessness. It was a mild night compared to some. I don't remember being restless during the night except when I get up to potty. I stay tired.

Jan 27, 2017 4:34 AM

Thanks for sharing. I have the same amount of restless times but shorter periods. If this was a mild night for you I feel sorry for you when you have a bad night. One bad night is OK but a few in a row is killing. The fitbit gives you some indication about your sleep quality.

Jan 27, 2017 7:20 PM

Hey guys..I'm one of you now. I've just gotten my fitbit flex. So excited

Jan 27, 2017 8:12 PM

I love mine. I do weekly challenges with friends

Jan 28, 2017 5:06 PM

So far so good with my Fitbit.

Jan 29, 2017 3:19 PM

I've lost 44.5 pounds since Christmas!!!πŸ˜³πŸ™„πŸ˜œ

Jan 29, 2017 3:28 PM

πŸŽ‰That is awesome AlwayZ! Congratulations!!!! 🎊✨🎷🎢🎢

Jan 29, 2017 3:34 PM

Thanks Flappsy!!πŸ˜πŸ˜˜πŸ’•

Jan 29, 2017 5:44 PM

Alwayz 44.5 pounds in the last month? That's excellent if it's intentional but worrying if it's not?

Jan 29, 2017 7:06 PM

Sezzy..I'm with you..I worry about her constantly..

Jan 29, 2017 7:40 PM

Yeah... 44.5 pounds in a month is incredibly dangerously fast weight loss. Really ideally you want max a pound a week.

Jan 31, 2017 4:41 PM

Last night was just over 6 hr total sleep with 5 wakeful & 38 restless episodes. Not a good night or adequate rest, per the doc I saw today. I've noticed I'm feeling my heartbeat in my chest and hearing it in my ears, and this adds to not being able to fall asleep.

Feb 01, 2017 11:18 AM

I love my Fitbit for tracking sleep!

Feb 03, 2017 1:14 AM

I'm just now learning to use it . But I am finding the sleep tracking very helpful. I'm going to the Dr next week and I'm interested in what he will say about my sleep patterns.

Feb 03, 2017 1:34 AM

How do we get started with this

Feb 03, 2017 6:29 PM

Hey guys still looking at how to connect with yall on Fitbit?

Feb 03, 2017 6:42 PM

Either facebook or email to connect- could use others to connect with

Feb 03, 2017 6:48 PM

Are you using the same screen names on there

Feb 03, 2017 7:13 PM

Michelle McCuddin

Feb 07, 2017 2:45 PM

I love my Fitbit! My doctor uses the sleep and heart rate tracker to monitor my POTS!

Feb 07, 2017 3:08 PM

So..do u mention my tracker if my doctor does not.? I'm thinking this doctor will love it. But you never know.

Feb 07, 2017 3:11 PM

I told my doctor that I have a Fitbit that I use regularly, and he asked to see my heart rate charts. We look at the times I have had issues and look at my heart rate at that time to try and find patterns. I had the Fitbit before going to the doctor because I am a fitness instructor!

Feb 07, 2017 3:13 PM

I just got mine and I love it the sleep tracker is amazing and shocking at the same time. Mine doesn't track my heart rate which I wish it did because I have irregular heart rhythm at times. But I can see this being a great tool in my health goals.

Feb 07, 2017 3:26 PM

Yes definitely! My doctor has been able to find predictors in my data for when I might faint, etc.

Feb 08, 2017 10:09 AM

@ Schultjl20, my recent DX of PoTS is why my hubby got me the Fitbit HR. Thank you for the tips. I'm "Flappy's Lady" on Fitbit. I don't have Facebook.

Feb 08, 2017 10:11 AM

Do u mind giving me your email flappy? I'm not 100%sure how to add either. My email is toyaclark64@yahoo

Feb 09, 2017 4:12 AM

I'm loving my Shitbit!!!! I've lost 50 pounds since Christmas and I'll see Saturday if I lost any more. I'm not getting crazy with it but I'm glad I got it!! {{{Hugs}}πŸ€—πŸ’•

Feb 09, 2017 4:41 AM

That's great Alwayz that you're losing weight.

Feb 10, 2017 4:41 PM

AnimalLover2, thank you!! Yes, I've been lucky to lose weight like this. I've lost and gained hundreds of pounds over the years but I have a different attitude about it now. I'm not trying, I'm not depriving myself (that is if I want anything at all). Most of the time people have to tell me to eat because if I do once a day it's a lot. However, that being said, I'm sure that it will be a bit different this time.πŸ€—πŸ’•

Feb 12, 2017 9:28 AM

Y'know it's possible to form a group on Fitbit platform to enable others to join.

I've tried to join groups but they usually do more activity than me so it's difficult to keep up.

Anyone interested in forming or joining a group with people in pain?

Feb 13, 2017 8:25 PM

anything more than zero is something

Feb 17, 2017 9:14 AM

There are days I move so much that I'm amazed & shocked at my activity level, 6000-7000+ steps/day. Then there are days I can't even make half of my goal steps; 4500/day. That is living with fibromyalgia and chronic pain. Don't feel put off because you can't do the steps others do. Just do your best, and feel proud on good days and bad days. Hugs love and prayers your good will become more than your bad! πŸ™‚πŸ’•πŸ™πŸŒΈ

Feb 17, 2017 9:19 AM

I'm finding it grest motivation to have you guys linked to my Fitbit.

Feb 17, 2017 10:52 AM

Yeah!!! What you said Flappsy!! I haven't slept in days so I get up and wander the house. Last week I had an issue and had to keep coming down for the bathroom: (our bathroom has been gutted and being worked on so I have to shower at my neighbors and use the potty there too). Last week I literally did the stairs 99 times

Feb 17, 2017 2:02 PM

AlwayZ, I haven't slept well since last week, averaging 3 to less than 6 hours a night. I'm so exhausted. And my back is flared up too. I have an MRI on Monday.

Feb 22, 2017 8:56 PM

Friend me anyone.I have my goals set at 7500 steps and sometimes it kills me
My Lupus has been flaring lately so my activity is low
Love the sleep app.culpx2@outlook.com

Feb 23, 2017 8:34 AM

My daughter had fit bit but found they wear out too often. I know the last one she had fitbit replaced it several times before she gave up and went to the Samsung Gear S2. When I can walk again.. (grrrr) I am going to get one of those in the rose color.

Would love to keep in touch with others using similar devices once I can actually be up and moving.
