Okay so here's the issue this morning. My right knee has been pretty decent for a while, but it shook me up this morning. Has been doing this thing where it feels like it wants to buckle forward on itself. Normally, it will NOT do that at all. Pain is usually on the right side under the kneecap. This is all below my knee, but I attempted to stand up at about 11 last night to go to the bathroom. 1st and 2nd attempt were incredibly painful. Got halfway up and knee locked on me. Questioning if I need to be seen by my regular ortho or do I just wait it out?
Feeling so much more comfortable tonight. It is a severe case of arthritis under the kneecap, no meniscus or acl tear thankfully. Rest, ice, wear the knee brace when up and about. Surprisingly, don't need it on during the night or if my knee is elevated, but I do if I'm walking or if my legs are dangling. Tramadol is my friend tonight. And I actually for the first time, felt listened too by my orthopedic surgeon. It's been years since I've felt that way.
I'm glad you feel heard at last by a doctor. I totally understand what that feels like. I have fibromyalgia and migraines two syndromes that frustrates doctors because they cant quantify it. It can be years before you can get a doctor to believe and listen to you. The feeling of validation you have when a doctor actually listens to you can be awesome. I'm glad you are doing better.
