Freaking out here!

Oct 15, 2015 11:01 PM

For the last couple of weeks I've had really bad pains in the right side side of of right breast, so I did a self breast exam because breast cancer runs in my family. Well low and behold I felt a lump! I'm still fighting the insurance company to get my sonos done on my left side and I am 2 years behind on my mammogram. At this point I can't wait any longer they need to do something now! I've been fighting insurance company for a year already! I'm freaking out!

Try to stay calm!! Breast cancer runs in my family too. I found 3 lumps after a month or so of pain. After getting my boob squashed and having an MRI and a biopsy, they were just fluid filled cysts. Turns out I have cystic breasts. Completely benign and pretty common. Three women in my family had breast cancer so I freaked too. Just try to stay positive and see the doc ASAP!! Best wishes!!

Mopar, I agree with SBO. Please try to stay as calm as possible. I know that is easier said then done. We are here for you.

Same here ladies, but when I went in the first thing I was asked is does it hurt? I said yes very much so. The Dr said that's a good sign. I said what?? Breast cancer lumps don't hurt he said. They found out that I had cysts that are quite common in women but are caused from things like caffeine etc. Told me to stop any and all caffeine for a month and see if I notice any change so I did and the lumps went away and so did the painful breasts. But a few months down the road I was working alot!!! And working nights and just extremely tired so I started drinking caffeine again and I got the lumps back in my breast and they were very painful and had other issues so this time I cut out the caffeine for good. And they went away. Just something to think about. Also when women are ovulating or about to start their period or are in menapause or even stressed out alot we can get that same painful lumps in our breast also. I will be praying that you can get in to see someone to get it checked out and prayers that it's nothing to worry about. Keep us posted please.

I was told the same thing about pain & caffeine that Irishgirl spoke of. (((Hugs))) & a prayer for you Moparmom. 🙏🌼

Dealt with this issue a few times. For me the best treatment was no caffeine. I also take vitamin B complex and vitamin E. This stopped all symptoms completely. Since then I occasionally sneak a Coke but I always pay for it in my pain levels. So as I got smarter (I can pretend) I stick to eating clean, I mostly eat paleio and add fresh squeezed juice daily. This usually keeps my general pain levels at a tolerable level. Apparently my body forgot about that for the past two weeks. This is why I have been pretty scarce on the board lately. Urghh.

I didn't know about the vitamin E. Thanks LMB! 🙏🌼

I was also told the same thing about pain if you have pain you most likely do not have cancer.

I'm not saying don't get checked you may want to see if possible if your area has a Planned Parenthood or maybe a clinic.

Moparmom, if anything, you should be able to get a free mammogram screening. I know where I live they have a program for that. Have you looked into where you live?

Moparmom, I was told the same thing about pain and lumps in the breast. However, as others have said, definitely get to see the doctor sooner than later. Having worked in insurance for many years, I can tell you that they made it Federal Law that women are entitled NO MATTER WHAT to have their PAP and Mammogram done every year at no cost to you. Call your insurance company and get yourself a liason and they will help you to get your appointment sooner than later. I'm sending you {{{{Hugs}}}} and you'll be in my prayers. 🌻🙏🏻

Thank You Eddieray and Ladies, I was talking with hubby and told him what I found and the fact that we have been waiting over a year for our insurance to get off their feet and do something. So in about a month my husband should be getting back pay and we are going to set things up and pay for it out of pocket. I have had problems in the past so I don't want to take any chances.

Ummm, most hospitals do the boobie squish for free. Check into it.
