I am 35 years old. I have fibromyalgia because of trauma and stress over and over again in my life. I have had to use a motorized scooter at times to get through a store. I've thought of asking for a handicap parking pass because walking too far is now a thought for me. We have to do whatever we have to to make it. I have 2 children and don't get breaks. I have to say no sometimes.....a lot of the time and it killd me! my house can become a mess easily and working feels impossible
Hi Cspinelli, Don't worry about the post, most of us are in exactly your position when it comes to the daily grind of life, and putting up with relentless daily pain. Do get a handicap placard, as it does make a difference. With juggling everyday life with pain, things are not easy. I think it is great that we have this "Catch my Pain" community. We all support each other here, so post anytime you want.
I understand how you feel. I am 49 and had to stop working at age 37. my disease has progressed over the last 20 years to the point of being an 8 ON my pain meds. I am quick to get frustrated with it all. I have not slept in a bed for about 6 years because it hurts so I sleep in a recliner. this is what I deal with: Degenerative Joint Disease, RSD, Fibromyalgia, Degenerative Disc Disease, Thoracic Spinal Spondylosis, Migraines, etc.. I do have a handicapped plate on my truck but only use it when parking is too far away. I need to have an intermission from this pain, it wears me down daily and causes secondary depression and anxiety. I'm sure there are many like me out there. we ALL need to be there for each other because we understand what it's like... we do have to just deal with what we are dealt and take it one day at a time.
Aahhhh! I'm on vacation, started Lyrica. Only 50mg. Doesn't seem to help yet or at this dose. I have been in excruciating pain for about 2 weeks non stop. I thought it was nerve pain due to stopping my Gabapentin. Lyrica should help that though. I'm trying to keep going taking Lyrica 3 times a day, Vicodan 2 to 3 times a day, 12 Advil, 2 baclofen (muscle relaxers they do nothing). I have ADHD and I take adderall for it....it helps with brain fog too. My family has no idea what I have to do/swallow to keep up. Most of what we are doing is relaxing, even that is hard. Crazy!!! I try to ration my Vicodan, but it just hurts so much. Traveling, suite cases, long plane rides......The first 4 days I took so much pain meds I know my Dr. would not approve. I honestly could have probably been in the hospital on a morphine pump it hurt so bad. I hate complaining!
I suffer from Lupus and Fibromyalgia. My fingers are so sore and my legs and feet are swollen. For the most part I'm doing o.K. last week I was a mess. My breast were sore as well as thighs and wrists. I also had a bout of swollen glands and lymph nodes. I'm wondering if the weather has something to do with the way I feel. I used to take Gabapentin, but that was stopped. Now I take plaquinel. none of the pain meds I take have no impact on my pain. It hasn't been so bad this summer. Winter was so bad I didn't think I'd make it. Has anyone had the excruciating pain in the side? The one that hurts to breath in and out, and you can't sleep?
