Frozen shoulder

Nov 07, 2018 9:53 PM

Is anyone else in the group suffering from frozen shoulder?
I Had a laparoscopy a month ago to ease the pain. I still have terrible pain especially at night.
I have some questions.
What pain meds do you find effective? How long have you been taking them for? I have been told there is a strong chance I will get frozen shoulder in my other shoulder!!

Hi Barney, I had a frozen shoulder couple of years ago during recovery from a back surgery. They gave me a big steroid injection in the joint and sent me home. Physical therapy took forever as it turned out that I have torn rotator cuf so the frozen shoulder is just musking that injury. In terms of pain pills, I was already on opioids, so no new meds were given just for the shoulder. Btw, it never went onto the other shoulder but two years on, my rotator cuff injury has still not been repaired, although I have to say the shoulder at least is not frozen any longer. The PT takes forever. And it hurts. (Or I can’t take pain any more...).

I had frozen shoulder on right, and torn rotator cuff in left one-twice-from two separate falls.for frozen shoulder I had steroid injection but it didn't help and I almost passed out from the pain of the injection. Physical therapy helped a lot, and I continue some of the exercises to this day. Generally I am pain-free in that shoulder at least.
