Gabapentin for nerve damage, RH, and Fibromyalgia?

May 12, 2017 5:31 PM

I've been taking Gabapentin for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and nerve damage for some time now. I've been at 'max dose' for about 3 months, which in Ontario, Canada is 300mgs 4 times daily. I've noticed that the Gabapentin isn't doing anything like it used to anymore. I have battled with opiate addiction in the past, so I cannot get any access, nor do I want to gain access to any opiates, but I don't know what else I can do for these 3 issues any more. Does anyone know of any other form of medications for an x opiate addict like myself when Gabapentin and Lyrica are no longer serving their purpose?

I take valerian root . for my pain i cant take most prescriptions. Was on gabapentin 600 mg three times a day n it did nothing. You may wanna look into more natural meds. Valerian for me at least takes off the edge hope this hlps.

Best bet is someone who had studied it. Because like most meds it can have diffrent effects for diffrent people. What the internet tells you it what its commonly used for. With any meds tjey can be used for many things. I would suggest n herbalist or someone who studies natural meds. Theres also many good books out there for this as well.

Cymbalta, Amitriptyline, Savella, lamictal..... most of the time I add cymbalta to patient regimen and see if helps before tapering off gabapentin as my first step.
